busdriver
The latest AFTimes has an article about the new "ABS-G." Looks like the whole kit will also include AF specific body armor instead of the interceptor set up currently used. Overall it looks decent, if you ignore the stupid camo pattern used. Duck
The problem is that the idiots designing this stuff have never actually been in battle. I think this pretty much sums up the whole problem with the uniform.
jazzdude
The airman battle ensemble is comprised of the coat, pants and battle shirt. It is basically a tactical fire resistant adaptation of the current ABU. The ABE is the core of the ABS-G. Battle shirt? Really? Can I wear my "battle" shirt while I stroll down the "combat" sidewalk? Look more into the battle shirt- seems like a pretty good idea. Basically, but the arms off the blouse and attach it to a t-shirt so you don't have extra layers under body armor that you'd have if you wore the usual blouse + undershirt. I'm pretty sure that the AF borrowed this idea from the army. http://www.airforcetimes.com/news/2008/10/...uniform_101008/
