February 14, 20205 yr The FY21 active duty flying training board announcement was just released. PSDM 20-18 is available on myPers. Search for article number 46264 to pull it up.
March 27, 20205 yr It'll be interesting to see if the Covid response and restrictions affect the selection board date at all. Most deployments have been extended already, but as of now mine hasn't. Gotta take the PPL tests when I get back. I imagine it's affecting a lot of people's ability to complete the different parts of the application process.

I imagine it's affecting a lot of people's ability to complete the different parts of the application process. I had the same thoughts exactly. I'm curious to see how it effects the board and application process, as well as the potential slots if the board still remains. Cuts or boosts? Never can tell I suppose. As always...needs of the Air Force. Edited March 31, 20205 yr by kuhnie17
April 1, 20205 yr AF215 question: Do your bullets for/from commander and senior rater read similar to your OPR? All the one’s I’ve seen from others tend to be more generic about one’s worth to the unit versus specific performance and accomplishments.

I imagine it's affecting a lot of people's ability to complete the different parts of the application process. My AFOQT and TABS testing dates were again both postponed indefinitely. I've been on a waiting list to take them at the MEPS center since Summer 2019. The colleges in my area only let a few non-cadets take the AFOQT and they fill up fast. There is also waiting lists.
April 8, 20205 yr Author There are a number of boards and DTs being rescheduled at AFPC due to the COVID19 outbreak. They are looking at delaying the board by 3 months. The PSDM will be adjusted once all the details are finalized (next week?).

I’m currently a space ops officer (13S) who is not going to enter the space force but supposedly the assignment team isn’t releasing anyone from this career field (for UPT included) even though 13S is becoming a separate service. Doesn’t make a whole lot of sense to me since basically I’m being told what I can and can’t do by people who are (soon to be) not in the Air Force. If possible I’d be interested in just applying anyway and forcing them to tell me no, if I was accepted. Your assignments team/functional must "release" you for consideration in order for package to actually make it to the board.
July 30, 20205 yr Question about the AFOQT scores on the AF215: I took the AFOQT in early 2017 when I was applying to OTS originally, and I assume since it's an older version of the test I don't have an ABM score. However, on the back of the AF215 it states that the scores must include all categories, including ABM. Is there a way to calculate the ABM score on your own or can I just put N/A in that box? **UPDATE** For those who have the same question, I just realized that according to the PSDM, ABM scores are not required. Best of luck to everyone! Edited August 10, 20205 yr by rholt13
August 12, 20205 yr Anyone heard anything about how many slots will be available for pilot this year?
September 28, 20205 yr Did anybody submit the UPT application packet for 2021 board? Edited September 28, 20205 yr by Kilo_Gram
October 14, 20205 yr Author For anyone who is having issues getting their initial flying class physical completed in time, there is some flexibility with the due date for that part of the application. Reach out to the DP2OR Workflow email from the PSDM and they can provide guidance.
October 22, 20205 yr Heard from the office that older physicals are being accepted now (ones that will expire in 2021). Deadline is coming up soon. I retook my AFOQT to raise the PCSM. Hopefully it pays off. Good luck people
October 24, 20205 yr https://airforcejourney.com/schedules/fy2021-line-officer-board-schedule/ I saw this, anyone else know if this is correct, that Nov 13th is cutoff date for AD rated board?
October 24, 20205 yr @aero_pilot that’s for those trying to go Officer. The UFT board is for those who are already officers and are tying to cross flow
October 24, 20205 yr @URTHopeful2021 Gotcha, well I'm a civilian wanting to got to OTS for pilot and I thought the rated boards were done for the year but just ran across that. I've taken the tests and all, just waiting on LORs. So I can just contact my local AD OTS recruiter right? Edited October 24, 20205 yr by aero_pilot
November 2, 20205 yr Last day before deadline! Just got word my package has been vetted and is gtg for the board! Good luck everyone. Hopefully one good thing comes out of 2020.
November 3, 20205 yr I just submitted my application. Hopefully the high selection numbers the last two years continue. Best of luck to everyone!
November 6, 20205 yr For pilot, allegedly, UFT was allocated 75 slots, but they're expecting that number to be smaller for the actual slots available. This was the case last year as well where they allocated 75 slots but the actual slots ended up being lower.
November 6, 20205 yr I thought I saw that the 2021 rated board deadline was pushed to May? Edited November 6, 20205 yr by aero_pilot
