February 27, 201411 yr anyone else's VSP application say referred to "AFPC Voluntary Separation BPO"? Mine changed a few hours ago. Yep. As of this past Friday, CMA shows my application has moved to "AFPC Voluntary Separation Pay Office".
February 27, 201411 yr anyone else's VSP application say referred to "AFPC Voluntary Separation BPO"? Mine changed a few hours ago. Asked a buddy who was denied VSP (UPT ADSC). Apparently that's the last stop before a decision is made. Also, did you notice how I used three abbreviations in a row there?
February 27, 201411 yr Asked a buddy who was denied VSP (UPT ADSC). Apparently that's the last stop before a decision is made. Also, did you notice how I used three abbreviations in a row there? How was your buddy notified his application was denied? Email from AFPC or notified by CC?
February 27, 201411 yr How was your buddy notified his application was denied? Email from AFPC or notified by CC? He got an email from AFPC. You know, the standard impersonal "GFY" we're all expecting.
February 27, 201411 yr i wonder why some of us with UPT ADSCs have already been denied while others have not...
February 27, 201411 yr i wonder why some of us with UPT ADSCs have already been denied while others have not... The only ones I see that haven't been denied yet are the ones still sitting at the Squadron or Wing Commander signature stage. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think everyone that has been Referred to BPO has been denied already?

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think everyone that has been Referred to BPO has been denied already? Wrong, mine's been through the Sq and Wg, recommend approval at both, referred to BPO, now just today, referred to AFPC Voluntary Separation Pay. Edited February 27, 201411 yr by lloydbraun
February 27, 201411 yr Wrong, mine's been through the Sq and Wg, recommend approval at both, referred to BPO, now just today, referred to AFPC Voluntary Separation Pay. So what're your stats? AFSC? Year group? ADSC? Zodiac sign? I'm a TERA hopeful, but your status sounds hopeful, and I'm sure lots of folks would like to know that stuff. Hell, I'm curious too. Also, keep us updated. You could be the first success story in this 81-page thread.
February 27, 201411 yr I asked for 2 years and 4 months get waived and that got rejected about a week ago.
February 27, 201411 yr I wouldn't get your hopes up. Know someone who had less than a week left on their UPT ADSC and was denied and another with less than 2 months on their UPT ADSC that was denied. Both applied on the first day of the application window and found out last week.
February 27, 201411 yr So weird...also 2006 11m and mine got kicked back like 2 weeks ago. Unless they did a batch right after the window and are about to do another
February 27, 201411 yr Also, with the commercial equivalent, the McDonnell Douglas DC-10, seeing less service, fewer replacement parts would be available for the KC-10. Totally makes sense. Good thing Boeing been keeping those 707 flying so parts stayed on the shelves.
February 27, 201411 yr Totally makes sense. Good thing Boeing been keeping those 707 flying so parts stayed on the shelves. Rumor mill is that -10 MX are running out of the computer [bCU?] that control the boom, which is all fly-by-wire.
February 27, 201411 yr Rumor mill is that -10 MX are running out of the computer [bCU?] that control the boom, which is all fly-by-wire. I guess they didn't make enough of them for the DC-10.
February 27, 201411 yr referred to AFPC Voluntary Separation Pay. This is what CMS shows for me now too. When I go through vMPF, self-service actions, separations and "view my application" though it still says "Referred to BPO". Edited March 1, 201411 yr by Dubs
February 27, 201411 yr Rumor mill is that -10 MX are running out of the computer [bCU?] that control the boom, which is all fly-by-wire. They were supposed to have already replaced the BCUs two years ago, but funding got cut, IIRC.
February 27, 201411 yr Rumor mill is that -10 MX are running out of the computer [bCU?] that control the boom, which is all fly-by-wire. A standing issue we have in the AF is that some of the MDS-specific parts aren't being made anymore. It gets really bad when the component was made by a small business who now no longer exists.
February 27, 201411 yr Isn't there another program where we sourced parts from subcontracts from all 50 states? Sorry. Wrong thread.
February 27, 201411 yr My incidents page was finally updated today but now it says "//??// retirement request" with no specifics about what was actually updated. Anyone else have anything change today? Edited February 27, 201411 yr by Catbox
February 27, 201411 yr Nothing new on mine, Catbox. It's been "FM hold batch processing" since 21 January. I check mine about every 10 minutes when I'm at work, because I am unstable. Perhaps they're waiting to assign you a retirement number...
February 27, 201411 yr Just something I thought of the other day when I read the article about how miraculously the personnel cuts aren't going to be as bad as first thought - What's to stop someone from applying for the VSP/TERA multiple times until the window is closed? I'm afraid there will be plenty to VSP, or that this whole process was just a shakedown to scare Congress into easing the budget pressure and those who tried to bail will be left with every shitty deal over the remainder of our ADSC. I knew that was possible before I hit submit on my VSP application, but if it gets returned here shortly I think my next action will be to immediately resubmit. Maybe someone at AFPC will hit the wrong button the second time...
