Fighter guys just memorize theirs and the "crews" unlucky enough to have to fly w/o FEs, I assume, challenge and respond to one another as appropriate. Guest Hueypilot812 Posted January 6, 2011 Share Posted January 6, 2011 In the Army we used Performance Planning Cards (PPCs), with is analogous to USAF TOLD cards. On the card, if I remember correctly, is a max OGE hover altitude and a max IGE hover altitude...so at your weight you knew beforehand how high you could enter a hover both IGE and OGE. As you burn off fuel, it'll only get better...or if you really want to know you can always re-run the chart...they have two pilots, no? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Depending on the airframe & mission, the crewman may not even have a maintenance background, much less be a no-kidding FE or crewchief (for us former USMC/USA types).
