December 11, 200519 yr I am sure some relic-lovers will enjoy this. The link below has some pics I took of great Air Force machines fading into history out in Avon Park bombing range. Full-screen versions print out well. https://hollysid.tripod.com/sid/index.album?i=2
December 11, 200519 yr Author I told the IP that I was going to push it up, he did'nt believe me FCI the other ones are of a t33/f80. We also found a b17 wreck out there that was incredible. Let's just say that we "liberated" them from being completely wiped out by time MY FIRST SOLO:
December 11, 200519 yr Author see the link below for added b17 pics. it was an all OD 17 from trng command or the crew's a/c. either way this was an early 17 or this acident happenned early in the war. I found most of this stuff a foot underground in a big crater 50+ years later. when I unearthed it, you can smell the a/c! that same musty old smell you get in a b52 or warbird. it was amazing. three engines were still there. pieces scattered all over the place. after the crash there was some cleanup done so not everything is out there, just what people could not pickup by hand. no a/c history available, don't know if crew got out. https://hollysid.tripod.com/sid/index.album?i=0
