Reagan was the last charismatic leader America has had and that was a long time ago. I am in agreeance with you, I think it's an absolute disgrace that with all the great minds/people in this country, these are the two nutjobs we decided should represent American. I believe we're going to have our equivalent of the French Revolution in a not so future time. Wealth gap keeps widening, socialistic ideas becoming increasingly popular, racial tension... There is so much anarchy and unrest and Americans have become completely us vs them in the two party system.

I 100% guarantee you everything will go back to normal after the election.  French Revolution? America is doing just fine.  Yeah socialist views are on the rise and racial tensions/riots are an issue but America will survive it.  It was built to survive this kind of crap.  I’d like to think we live in a country where the outcome of the President should not matter.  I don’t want one individual having that much power.

This is absolutely true, but I am genuinely curious what the Trump camp thinks. I don’t think Biden was particularly amazing by any means, but he sure as heck showed more restraint than Trump. He didn’t tell the Proud Boys to “stand by” (I’m actually giving Trump the benefit of the doubt that he misspoke, but it wouldn’t surprise me if that’s actually what he meant), and in general, Biden absolutely did not look like an individual with dementia. Maybe it was his performance enhancing drugs... haha.

So, lousy all around, but one of these individuals is the actual, POTUS...

Did we watch the same debate? Biden looked like he was about to have a stroke the whole night.  My only wish is that Trump interrupted less which would’ve highlighted Joe Biden for how troubled he is.  Biden also said some nasty things during the debate but no one is interested in that, just Orange man and the Charlottesville lie being perpetuated by Biden.

I can understand people’s aversion to Trump, I prefer his policies and don’t really pay attention to his personality which at the end of the day is more or less harmless tough talk.  But if anyone can honestly watch Biden and believe he is capable of leading on the world stage after pissing and moaning about Trump’s personality for 4 years,  then that is the height of hypocrisy.

Hey man, I’m not going to sit here and say that Trump is a saint.  But you can’t sit there and criticize the morality of Trump while claiming Biden is a “decent man.”  Most intelligent Trump supporters would never try to convince you that Trump is some kind of saint, but in a government where most politicians are scumbags, we will take his policies which even his most ardent opponents would agree have been beneficial for the country.

I liked this Frontline doc. It attempts to explain why Trump and Biden are the way they are.

BL: I can respect Biden as a man even though I may disagree with his politics. I can’t respect Trump, and his politics are whatever serves Trump best in the moment.

Do you respect him constantly sniffing women and making racist remarks?

    Slack, serious questions.
Which party, in your opinion, best represents the looters and rioters?

Response: I find it very interesting the way you chose to word this. Sincere response: neither party represents looters or rioters. I would put money on the fact that the overwhelming majority of looters and rioters aren't voters and don't care, beyond superficially, about the issues they are abusing and using as excuses to loot and or riot. Looters more so than rioters.

What candidate for President do you think they will vote for?

Response: See above. If they vote, probably for Biden. If you think this question is legit, then I have one for you that shows how silly this question is. What candidate/party do you think white supremacists, or the people driving their cars into peaceful protestors will be voting for? Looters or white supremacists aren't representative of the majority...

Which media outlets/personalities have excused their actions?

Response: caveat to my answer, I don't watch any news channels really, but this is a question you already know the answer to, and is ridiculous on the surface. What does media have to do with it? Idiots that can't think for themselves watching either side's media believe everything they see/hear on that crap. Can't work with those people. The ones we should care about are those willing to have an actual conversation and critically think about the other side's perspective. There are members on here who say they listen, but they don't. I respect a lot of what guys like FLEA have said on leadership topics, but think he's too firmly in the camp of systemic racism is fake" to actually listen to other's ideas. There has been great evidence posted right here, not just from WaPo , that he and others immediately dismiss because (speculation on my part) he isn't affected by it, or it doesn't fit his/their narrative. What media outlets/personalities have consistently excused abhorrent statements or ethically questionable things made/done by the President?

and... Do you think any of the looting and rioting is justified?

Response: looting absolutely not! Rioting, we're on the balance of condemning history, and I think only history will accurately judge riots for social justice. I think Boston Tea Party is similar. POC feel underrepresented and oppressed, so when they are continually ignored (as has been done similarly by people on this board who ignore the mountains of evidence that has been presented here, yet in an out of hand fashion, dismiss it without real thought) what options do they feel are left to them? They want/crave attention and change. People won't listen because they don't believe it is real. Largely because they don't feel the effects. I'm sure at the time, people ignoring the issue of taxation largely condemned the Boston Tea Party. I recognize that is a loose comparison, but you get the idea.

--Please excuse typos, straggling sentences. Typing this crap on an iPhone gets tedious and easy to get lost since you can't see it all.

When the Democratic Vp nominee Harris proclaims that the riots should continue, then I think we have our answer on which party represents the rioters and looters best.

Yup.  Each legislative body sets its own rules.  The 60 vote filibuster thing is not a law that has to be undone.  Next legislative session in the Senate majority simply votes to change the rule.  And then faces the consequences at the next election.

If they want to pack the Supreme Court, they have the ability, assuming they win both Houses and the Presidency.

    Elections have consequences.

Hillary shoulda tried harder in 2016.

As to adding states, there's a rule for that, too.  It's like those Founding Fathers did their homework and researched everything available on the systems of governments in history.

And I believe the territory has to apply for statehood, not just be hand-waved by Congress.  I am unfamiliar if Puerto Rico has had such a referendum that passed.  Same for DC.

And then we can get to Guam, American Samoa, US Virgin Islands, et al.

"You get a state!  And you get a state!  And you get a state!"

    Bring it.

Dems should be careful what they wish for.  News to me being stationed in PACAF, Guam and American Samoa lean significantly right of center in terms of politics.

So this is what happened to the enlisted grad:

"Senior Airman Brenten Boler graduated Pilot Training Next on August 31, 2019--the only one in his class who was not assigned an airframe. He was assigned to be a T-6A Texan II simulator instructor at Laughlin Air Force Base, Texas."

    https://www.laughlin.af.mil/News/Article-Display/Article/2334934/enlisted-graduate-of-pilot-training-next-instructs-at-laughlin

There have already been programs to get sharp enlisted dudes through pilot training.  It is called commissioning.

If I had to guess I'd say that date of rank will still reign supreme for pin on dates so that would solve most of the pin on rank order across the categories. I would be really surprised if they apply merit based order the entire list and suspect that it will just be a few top performers that get bumped to the front of the line. Also keep in mind that the 06 year group is in an interesting place this board. Our "best and brightest" would already have been picked up BPZ during the last two boards, so who would they be pushing to the front this time around anyway? IDE in-res grads? Those who just missed the cut BPZ last time around? I think rank order will become more of a factor in future years with year groups that didn't have the opportunity to have their best promoted BPZ.

I also want to add that I recognize it's not always the best and brightest who make it BPZ and that not all of those who are truly the best make it BPZ.

As far as the delay goes, it's hard to tell if there even is a delay beyond what could be expected when a lot of people working the process are probably teleworking. With updates being announced over a month after they happened (looking at you 22 July SECAF date posted in late August), who knows where it really is. While it's fun to be the guy "in the know," rumint is just that, rumors.

BPZ is like top 1-2%.  I’m sure there are many 06ers in the 3-10% cut line that they are career monitoring.

Check out the AFSOC Commander page for a couple dozen videos from Slyfe about diversity and some really awkward "real talks." AFSOC has gone full corporate.

I’m sure these guys truly believe in the cause and want to make a difference; it has nothing to do with toeing the line with the diversity & inclusion narrative of the brass at the top.  Not at all.  Curious to see how rapidly these talks dissipate when Trump’s memo makes its way down.

Atlantic publishes "anonymously sourced" article last night.

On the record sources, including infamous John Bolton, say it's false.

Well-produced and scripted Democrat attack ads released using the story today, within 8 hours of the release.  Same for the anti-Trump veterans letters being distributed citing the piece as evidence.

Same outlet, among others, was 24/7 "Russia, Russia, Russia."

Color me squint-eyed and a little cynical about another type of collusion.

Not to mention, nary a word anywhere about a FOIA lawsuit filed this week against Secret Service for admittedly destroying records regarding Biden feeling up the wife of an agent at a photo op.  Agent had to be physically restrained from decking "Fingers."

Nothing to see here.  Move along...

The democrats were probably stroking each other in glee as they thought they hit gold with this hit piece.  Perhaps another “grab her by the pxxxx” October surprise which Trump has apologized for many times (cmon gents.. you have said worse and don’t BS me into claiming you haven’t, right or wrong.)

Unfortunately, this is just that, a hit piece devoid of any evidence, logic or fact. Much like the hit piece with Russia or Kavanaugh.  It will fall flat...and add it to the reasons why I will laugh so hard when the mass tears flow from the leftists 3 November.  You reap what you sow.

Sorry, I'm not really with you on this one.  The Republicans have more than proved themselves to be, at best, Democrat-lite, and more often than not, as anti-Trump as the crazies.

To wit, failing to support Trump after he won the nomination in 2016.  They rejected the rank and file party's rejection of them.  So I quit the GOP then.

Failing to overturn Obamacare when they held both Houses of Congress and the White House.  Thanks, McCain.

Failing to oust Romney (Quisling is too kind a word for him) after he voted for one of the articles of impeachment.

And these are just the highlights.  There's literally hundreds more examples.

Oh, and failing to bring forward national reciprocity when they had the chance.

    A pox on both parties.

You speak a lot of truth.  This is why Trump is so hated amongst the establishment, and so revered by many.  He’s not a politician.  He’s not a RINO.  He’s not a puppet.

I don’t care about his personality; his policies are exactly what America needs.  I’d rather take a loud mouth New Yorker than an empty suit who can read a teleprompter.  Heck, Biden can’t even do that.

So I was removed from AFROTC.  I meet with my Commander last week to find out why, and he said  for low GPA 2.7 and non technical GPA.   I want to fly helicopters in the Air Force.  I keep reading “never give up”. Should I reach out to my Commander again and ask him to reconsider keeping me in the Program?  Is that never giving up, or being a nuisance?

You have nothing to lose.  Give it all you got, just don’t be an ass about it.  I know academy grads with a GPA less than yours that are squadron commanders now.

Gen. Mills said the rationale essentially is that UPT is tough and requires the class to work together and that when you’re the one minority in a class full of white guys, it may be somewhat more difficult to reach out for help when you need it when the people you reach out to aren’t like you.
He worded it a lot better but that is the gist of the idea. He also admitted that it will naturally negatively affect the diversity of future classes but they are looking to see if there is a measurable effect on washout rates for minority students.

I don’t think it’s a bad idea to try FWIW

I was a minority in a UPT class, I had zero issues.  I know many minorities in UPT classes, they all did just fine to include 5th gen fighters.  What invented issue is the Air Force trying to solve now?

    Air Delivery

Going to stop you right their.  Aerial Delivery, or rather “Air Drop,” cannot be taught to proficiency in a sim.  Add in RF threats and other real world factors...forget it.  Anyone who advocates for such is asking for numerous mishaps.  AMC at large is not fucking airline training.  It is no wonder most of the CAF scoffs at us.

PTN is experimental. Why hold a wash out against someone when it’s an unproven program?

Because we all trust big Air Force to be 100% objective and act with integrity and not undermine the standards for metrics or “diversity.”  Nope, not at all.

One of our guys is about to start 2.5...the overall timeline is about one month shorter than traditional UPT. So it doesn’t save any appreciable time getting guys to the operational AF, which is the problem they’re trying to solve. So, if it doesn’t produce more and faster, what is the benefit?

In tonight's installment of "Ideas that sounded good but JQP will have an absolute field day with"..

Has anyone heard about this new "America class" initiative at UPT bases?  Apparently AETC leadership has decided to create entire UPT classes of only women and minorities.

Wouldn’t surprise me.  Our priorities as a service and DOD is putting us on a clear tragedy our to lose the next major war.  I wish I was saying that jokingly but I’m genuinely concerned about our time honored capabilities to fly, fight and win.

Also, you realize your whole argument boils down to “Trump didn’t have enough power over states/localities to be effective, so it’s not his fault?“

You wanna know what type of government doesn’t have the problem of dissident government leadership?

    Communism.

Federalism, 10th Amendment, these are all good problems to have! I don’t want Trump or anyone in the federal government have that much power.  You guys give him and the position way too much credit.  I’ll take decentralized federalism over the false security of centralized control found in other countries any day.  This is bigger than Covid with a less than 0.1% mortality rate.
