I was in the second ever class of IPT at Peachtree. There were a significant amount of growing pains associated with IPT. Those should be ironed out by the time you get to where you’re going. IPT is good for bonding with your class, and getting your hands warm. There is some negative transfer with the G1000 and the legacy instruments of the T-6. Checklist usage at civilian flight schools is much more lax than in a military environment. IPT was cool. I got my Multi and instrument out of it for free.99. Where you go is luck of the draw. You can take strategic leave when you get to CAFB to align yourself with a IPT location you desire. But even then it’s not a guarantee as they fill classes as you arrive. You may get back from leave and the class you’re trying to get into is already full. It’s a little chaotic with casuals down here. Lots and lots of first assignment LT’s are waiting to start training.

Yes! I called to get on the list for base housing as soon as I got notified of my base. We got a CGO house pretty quick.

When I talked to the Columbus T flight. I was told this is an unaccompanied TDY.

Today was a huge day. Got my orders, house confirmed on base at Columbus and had my FINI flight! Next stop CAFB!

Did anyone NOT receive their assignment by today? I have a buddy stationed at Randolph (ironic that it’s the AFPC headquarters) and he hadn’t heard anything as of 20 minutes ago. wondering if anyone else is in the same boat.

It’s not alphabetical. They process based on how you strat on the board.

I reached out to my ROTC detachment to ask when their guys and gals are leaving. They only had one UPT guy, he is showing up to Columbus the same day I am on 2 June. I wonder if they are just filling a class, one at a time.

I have a full stamped FC1. I skipped WPAFB because I did it when I commissioned 8 years ago. lol.

You were right! This goes against everything I’ve been told over the last couple years. But I’m stoked more people are getting the chance at their dream!

I’d be interested to see the data on this. AFPC will generally only take an alternate if someone declines, which would have been done back in February. If it’s medical, they wait out the waiver process before picking someone up. ie very unlikely for a alternate to be nabbed.

As far as he’s tracking, they still go to doss. He’s about half through T-6 now.

I may be wrong, however IPT doesn’t show Doss in Pueblo as a valid location per the AETC web page. you’ll go to IFT, it’s 4 months of training where you’ll get your Private, instrument and multi. Then you’ll start T-6 at Laughlin when you get back.

Looks like we will be in the same IPT class in good ole Pensacola!

When I spoke to T-Flight @ Columbus, they told me CO means CAFB. check with your CSS loss listing or outbound roster. You should be on it by now.
