Unfortunately I didn’t get selected, but I guess there’s always next year. Good luck to everyone!! Hoping you all get slots
Ah bummer sorry to hear that. So they find out either way?
Edit: as in CC's get notified early either way

So here's my logic...
Last year's (2021) application due date was Oct 5th, and the results were sent to commanders January 11th, with the official release on PSDM January 18th open to all members to view. This last year's board application due date was Oct 4th (2022), so if using the same timeline, the date commanders would be notified would land on January 10th with it posted on the 17th on PSDM.
Also, the member who commented a while ago who actually posts the results on PSDM said 2.5 - 3 weeks from when the board made their decisions (Dec 20th) is when they are expecting to post it. Jan 10th would be the 3 week mark, so.....
Using all that overanalysis, and knowing what I know about the AF, I'm watching my CC reeeeaaal hard starting tomorrow

If your overanalysis is correct... Today's the day boys and girls!

Thanks again, and yes please! If anyone did, I'd appreciate the info. Late 2023 makes sense, but just trying to project the likelihood of getting moved up due to no IFT. I'm actually hoping it does not, as I have some major life events this summer, but just trying to forecast, and I'm sure many selects will also already have their PPL. I'm glad to hear that AFPC was flexible with the MFS though. I'm already at Wright-Patt, so hopefully they can get me in ASAP.
If it means anything, a couple guys in my squadron that got picked up last year that didn't go to IFT PCS'ed around August/September

I was on the AD board last year and got a slot from the 2022 board - I think I heard around the 8th of Jan. Best of luck to you all! Let me know if you have any questions about the timeline or process. It moves pretty quick for current AD members
That's encouraging to hear. Gets my hopes up we'll find out this coming week.
How soon did you receive orders and pcs?

lol, the math makes sense, but does the Air Force? We shall see. Either way I'm excited for Tuesday now
Knowing myself, I'm gonna try to not build up Tuesday in my head to mean anything but I'm gonna build up Tuesday in my head. It's gonna come and pass with no results and I'm gonna be crushed.
Not to mention my CC is still on holiday leave so results could potentially release and I'm not sure I would know right away!

What will be worse is when one of you guys find out and everyone else is still in the dark…..
I'm a glass half full kind of guy... I would take that to mean results are finally out!

I have nothing productive to say. I've just checked this board 3-19 times a day with no update.
Nothing more frustrating than knowing someone knows if you've made pilot. But before you find out the AF needs to have 10 other people look at it...not make any changes and slowly sign something. Legit 30 days of nothingness!
Not to mention when it is time to pass results, they don't even tell you via email or mail or anything direct. They notify your CoC, when your commander eventually tells you.
I mean, it makes sense the commander should know if he's losing a guy but still...

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year you all. I purposely waited to think about this board until today and was glad to see the projected slots increased. With around 230 applications it's looking like about a third will be selected for UPT. Fingers crossed

Since this forum isn't very active, is anybody on a different one that is more active? I've tried checking Reddit and Facebook and haven't found anything yet. Google just brings me back here.
Also, are you guys following anything that is providing updates on the board? I'm in the dark and the suspense is growing.

Obviously over a year later but did you get picked up?

Doesn't seem to be nearly as much activity on this board as there was for the previous Active Duty Flying Training Boards here. Are less people using this forum these days?
With about a month from potentially hearing the board results, I would expect chatter to pick up. Heck, I created an account here just this weekend!

I saw your other comment they were able to find more slots. Did they elaborate on why? Is it due to the back up in the training pipeline?

I wonder what the avg scores will be this year if anybody could share any insight or their scores. Looking to apply for the next board (have my PPL). Thanks!
AFOQT/PCSM/PPL/STRAT
99/87/no/1
My PCSM jumped from 30 to 87 when I retook the AFOQT, added 24.5 flight hours, and retook the TBAS. Flight hours are weighted much more heavily now, so yes I'd expect higher averages.

Lots of things are possible, but that doesn’t make them likely.
if you end up in fighters, expect to PCS every 3 years +/- 3-6 months … usually on the minus side. You will move more often right after UPT for various training … long TDYs or full PCS’s.
AFPC likes to shuffle the manning holes around.
if you’re looking to homestead somewhere, consider the guard/reserves
Can confirm that Strike Eagle VML cycles are 2 years and 8 months. Most "get lucky" and stay for roughly 3 years. Some unlucky ones leave right at 2 years 8 months or less

Killer scores dude! What MDS are you currently on?
With that username, what are the odds you're a fellow strike WSO?

Hey y'all. Like everybody else I'm staying busy to keep my mind off of the suspenseful wait. Read through the comments and I hope that 40 pilot slot projection was just rumor and not true. But I could see it being true with the pipelines so backed up. I'll post my info just because:
Currently holding a rated position as a 12F. 99 AFOQT, 88 PCSM (no ppl, the new flight hour scoring helped my measly 25 flight hours). 1/3 Strat. Hoping those are good enough scores, got my Wing/CC to write my letter of rec. We'll see!

2023 Active Duty Flying Training Board
in Pilot Selection Process
Posted
I was wondering how and if career field release is taken into consideration. I am hoping that the "pilot shortage" would trump that if the candidate is a good fit for pilot
