With the 115th, there last boards trends had some who were hired without PPL and low hours (40s) and higher was around 140. PCSM and AFOQT in your range, with no rush or ties to the area.
They definitely look to hire from within first, but getting an interview is possible with what you presented. Keep on applying.

Yeah I mean they were saying 80s 90s to be competitive.
I am 80s afoqt pilot score but I'm 50s on the pcsm (probably from never having touched a stick/rudder).

I agree, no that wasn't the easy cut unless they weren't fully honest? Idk.
Only thing I left out was flying hours. But basically they said they had to elevate the minimums to weed out applicants to make interview selection.
So it sounds to me like scores come first but whole person concept comes second. Only other tidbit was that if I had flight hours/a more competitive pcsm I'd be a very competitive candidate so at least I know what to work on and at least these are things I and all of you can impact for the most part (which is good).
No ties to Wisconsin whatsoever, total rando. Hardly any ties to ang/afrc as a whole.

Still on a hold pattern with the 176. I imagine they had drill this weekend and we will hear something this week....
Or at least I would hope so, in the event we have to make travel arrangements.... not really trying to buy a last minute plane ticket lol
Also, no clue how many people they will select for boards/slots they have available.
Any chance y'all think they have more than one with the platform transition?

Just a heads up the 115FW/176FS is sending out confirmation emails of packet receipts.
They said they will be getting the paper packets some time this week. No clue on response timeline though.

Every squadron wants something different. I've rushed squadrons where they ended up choosing somebody with 20 flight hours over somebody with a CFI and 500 hours. I talked to an F-16 guard pilot who applied and rushed for 4 years before he was selected as a finalist. You just have to keep applying and be persistent till the last ominous no. This will likely be my last year due to age but I'll keep applying till I no longer qualify.

So let me just say (this is my second post) I really appreciate the camaraderie and support from y'all. This was my first packet I put in. I've been waiting for my initial commitment to the army guard to get closer before starting. FWIW I will say I'm really proud of how far I went in a month from not looking into it at all before June 13 to cramming and getting a P 81 and pcsm 51 (0 flight experience). Not saying those scores are phenomenal but given a shirt time frame I'm content with what I was able to accomplish.
@MeekTiger0824 I had spoken to the ops guy in the past (Rabbit) he said scores were the number one thing they would be evaluating and they would be using to weed out people.last year they had 167 apps. So it did go up..
@Checksix@red honestly, I wasn't considering it until I got the tbnt. Mostly bc I live in the SE and would prefer to stay in the SE. Never been to WI either(flying to drills wouldn't be the most feasible thing imo.).but I agree, no better shot than having a strictly mil board imo. So who knows maybe it'll play out in my favor. Anyone know someone from the 115 who would be willing to write a lor? :D

The 169FW/157FS sent out TBNT emails today. Good luck to those selected. They had 200 applicants.

This post hit hard. Not because I applied and got a TBNT ( I must have missed that one) but because of the geographical piece. IMO regardless of airframe, mission, etc.. it increases the appeal of the unit if it isn't far/doesn't require a long term complete life change (~6 Hours). Currently I drive 4 to a unit in the army guard and it is worth it because of the people and what we do. I have a friend who pays to fly to drill monthly(TX-> GA) and needless to say, it isn't cost effective. IDK why I'm on tangent at the moment, but as you said, push forward. stick with it. if you're fairly local, it wouldn't hurt to start developing relations.
When I started my process in June, I did what a lot of corporate recruiters do - started looking for pilots in the air guard/reserves on linkedin... mostly for advice or guidance, but I've found that most people are super willing to talk and help however hey can (likely because they've been in our shoes).
The way I see it, it'll allow you to grow your network, maybe make new friends, give you a reason to grab a beer, new support line, have an internal member to recognize and vet you, and from a business perspective, WORST case, maybe someone who is willing to look at your packet or write a LOR (because we can always use more of those right?).
