So now you can get a second bonus?

I signed a 2 year bonus in 2017. They offered me a second bonus this year. I decided to PCS one more time and signed a 3 year deal. I was planning on being a free agent, but that would be dumb if I don't take take the money.

Cyber is all in now.  Which means you can roll of a ops unit, taking the fight to the enemy

    and doing cool things.

And roll into command a communications cyber squadron at Tinker fixing email and cell phones.

Thanks Cyber. Now I can't pay my water bill. How is this going to cripple China though?

    Shazaam’s idea of a HPW.

Posting trashy photos here is kind of a bash against women. I don't know that lady, but I'm pretty sure she doesn't need you posting photos of her past here. Have a bit more respect. That is someone's wife, daughter, or she may not be on this earth anymore. Who knows.

If you are going to try and bash people wives or girlfriends who have successful careers despite loving a military man with their own successful career, then I highly suggest you look at the state of your marriage. Maybe there is some jealousy shrouded in your posts because your significant others Uber job just can't pay the bills anymore. She should stop giving out so many free rides, but at least when you PCS she will always have work.

High performing people marry high performing people.  And sometimes they do it without understanding 100% of what their military career implies for both of their lives.

Spot on. I have never asked my old lady to sacrifice for me. Marrying or dating a high potential woman (HPW) means someone is going to have to sacrifice for every PCS. That can create strain, stress, and resentment in a relationship or marriage.

So I walked over as they were climbing out of the cockpit, introduced us as 'once and future Air Force guys' and asked if we could take a picture of their jet.  It was a looker I'll say that.

To make a long story short, the crew were two U-2 pilots.   Of course they let us take all the pictures we wanted, but more important they asked my young friend what he wanted to do in the Air Force, and he told them he wanted to be a pilot.  They spent about 15 minutes telling him about pilot training, suggesting the best paths to a commission for him, and in general talking up the fun of being in the Air Force.

Great story! One reason I came to AETC was to share my flying stories with students and  encourage them to fly. I saw my first air show at Mathis Field while attending tech school. My tech school had a booth set-up for food at the air show. Ironically, I obtained my PPL from Mathis Field. Got to take the mighty T-6 there x-country too. And I had to divert to Mathis Field in my MWS aircraft.

I'm surprised students know what pilot wings look like because they inquire about them and so do their parents. I had a TRS/CC during a staff meeting ask me what my badge meant when I first arrived. Talking about an awkward silence in the freaking room!

Nope, but my unmarried ass has a sugar momma who is an engineer holding it down in a great place to live and work. She has a great career and neither one of us sacrificed our goals or careers. When I walk into a room with her I am very proud of her accomplishments because she builds highways and bridges across the state that everyone utilizes. 🤣 Can you say the same thing when you walk into the room with your old lady or does she jet toward the punch bowl just to get away from you?

The Air Force has zero responsibility to consider your civilian spouses career.

Those are choices you and your spouse made.

You are speaking from an officer perspective, speaking of which you are vastly out of touch. Don't speak for everyone. Most enlisted live paycheck to paycheck. Additional income is necessary at times. As a prior, you can save your ass off and still not get ahead. I'm not even married.

Sounds like your words are important because they represent action.  Doubt that would play well if every charge was always declined.  The USAF is talk no action regarding QOL improvements.  Don’t believe them.

I have dudes walking into my office with family problems. I tell them I cannot execute the mission without their family affairs being in order. Your family does play a role in executing the mission. I need dudes who can delegate and punch at COB, not one minute late. If you have to leave early for your kids activities, that's okay with me too. If you are having family problems, let me know and I'll give you a day to recage with the wife especially. I should be the last person to leave the office.

I have to tell dudes to get out of the office on a Friday afternoon and go home to their families. When I see people staying late, it's for promotion purposes in my opinion. I tell those individuals I need leaders who are about efficiency, getting tasks accomplished earlier so you don't stay late, and who believe in family first. If you're a workaholic, then you are going to lead the same way.

The CC and Super determine who gets submitted for strats for enlisted. The 3 dudes who stay late I noticed, none of them were submitted. A MSgt was asking my NCOIC if there is more he can do. I heard my NCOIC telling him what I need you to do is go home to your family.

I would say my wife's inability to hold a career is probably the single biggest motivating factor to me getting out. Even financially, when you run the numbers, adding a meaningful income to anything you make in the military is going to out weigh any bonus offers, etc.... and then there is the whole effect on spouses mental health. The feeling that they lack contribution to society or identity. The fact that they are only known as "Capt So-and-so's Wife" instead of by their name. And the fact that the Military keeps trying to push this creepy 1950s family model that relegated them to the home when they are better educated than their peers.

So true. I'm not even married. I have had CC's ask why my old lady doesn't follow me around. Because she has a great job in engineering. Then I get a puzzled look from them. I say she makes a lot of money 💰 and I leave it at that.

Yeah, the result of no one in my year group has been the B-1 community picking people from younger year groups to set them up for school/staff.

Also, can't believe you're going to put a fellow officer in blast without so much as a source.  Jesus.

I copied the allegations directly from the Military.com article in my Google feed. AF Times just posted their story today. The source was the USAFA who put him on blast as pointed out in the original post by "the school said Thursday." Didn't care to post the link yesterday, but since you asked:

    https://www.military.com/daily-news/2019/05/19/special-operations-pilot-faces-charges-raping-child-under-12-years-old.html

    https://www.airforcetimes.com/news/your-air-force/2019/05/21/academy-major-accused-of-rape-molestation-faces-article-32-hearing/

AF Times “It must be emphasized that charges are merely accusations, and the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty,” the release said."

Article 32 officer hasn't even determined there is probable cause for a trial yet, Colorado Springs PD already determined that there was not, and we're plastering the guy's name all over the place?

Not relevant to topic, and prejudicial to someone that is innocent until proven guilty. Delete and move on.

The phrase "accused of said allegations" must have totally escaped your vernacular? You know what accused means and I surely don't have to point out the definition of allegations either right. If you think you are correct, sue the writers of the articles from Military.com and AF Times in court and see how that turns out in front of a real judge.

Tell AF Times, Military.com, and the countless other online sites to remove their articles. You're just preaching to the choir on your soapbox of righteousness.

  12. WTF did I just watch for 1 hr 20 mins?

When did Westeros become wheelchair accessible? Bran didn't want to be Lord of Winterfell because he is the three eyed raven. But he watches Westeros burn, could have stopped it, and now he is in charge.

Sansa the snitch. "Winterfell will always be free." "Bran can't father children." How do you know he can't father children Sansa? I won't be watching your movie Dark Phoenix.

Well, if it makes y'all feel better, I'm not in a DO position, and the OG/CC looked at me like I had a dick on my forehead when I asked if DO was a possibility after leaving my current job.

There are DO jobs available if that is what you want. I wonder if this is a reason why we get slammed on promotion boards for not taking on other types of leadership jobs. Being an AC or MC is a leadership job.

Edit: or go to Saudi if you like seeing the world and don’t mind being single...or like that flavor of life. Why am I even posting right now? Oh yeah, same reason so always do...check.

I was a DO of an OSS, then asked to be a SQ/CC of a non flying GSU. Boss asked what I wanted to do after CC stint and I told him I wanted to fly again. Leave for new a/c qual in the fall. Helps me get current again and then I’ll make a decision on retirement then airline or go DSG and airline. Kinda nice to be able to have a little control over my future.

I asked AFPC what can I do next because I don't feel challenged enough in my DO position. Everything just feels really slow. I was offered Staff, C-12s to Saudi, or Edwards. They noted I have 3 short tours already and asked if I was married. I am single going on 19 years. The functional didn't specify why, but I can't crossflow to another MWS.

I'm on a 3 year stab tour, but AFPC said I can leave after 2 years. I just need my non rated CC's blessing.  Figure I would ask her in a few months. AFPC needs a response by Jan 2020.

I retired in 2015 so my info may be incorrect nowadays.  If you were a flyer, the first priority was to get you back in the jet if you were short on gate months. Usually the plan was to fleet you up to DO as soon as you made O-5.  If you were not short on gate months, a staff job at OSD, JCS, HAF, and everything else.

If you ended up going to SAASS, SAMS, or SAW after ACSC, just about everyone I know pinned on O-5 or were very close by the time they graduated and ended up going straight to a DO billet.  One cat was sent to be a group DO out of SAMS.  That did not seem like a good deal to any of us (including him) but he made the command list and got command after 2 years.  His was an unusual path.

Have you ever had anyone go outside the flying world and become a DO as an O-4? For example, I was handpicked for my DO position.
