Not sure where to put. When did this happen? I don't speak Nippon but I'm sure she was saying "Some dumass forgot to release the parking brake".

Only have put 50 rds through the new Glock 10mm, so hard to say confidently, but I’d lean more towards .40 (snappier feel vs. slow and pronounced). I will say it’s been much better to shoot than I thought it would be. Of course that’s only with 180 FMJ, we’ll see how it is with the 220 hard cast I’ll be loading.
Right with ya!! Picked mine up yesterday

Any islands nearby?
Not sure but it's a little far south to be seal clubbing isn't it? 😆

The new XD-M Elite 4.5” OSP 10mm combines all the refinements of the Elite series with the impressive power of the 10mm cartridge. Offering an impressive 16+1 capacity, the pistol features the Match Enhanced Trigger Assembly (META) with a flat face, crisp break and integral overtravel stop. Additional features include an optics-cut slide, an extended/removable flared magwell, improved slide serrations and an ambidextrous slide stop. The result is a highly shootable — and remarkably powerful — polymer-framed pistol.
https://www.springfield-armory.com/xd-series-handguns/xd-m-elite-handguns/xd-m-elite-45-osp-10mm-handgun/I just need to find a dealer that actually has one at or below the MSRP of $653!
Does 10mm shoot more like a 45 +p or a .40?

Thread revival...wondering if anyone has experience as a civilian doing a flyover for a funeral.
The father of a family friend passed away a few days ago and they are having his funeral next Monday at a military cemetery. He flew gunships for many years including in Vietnam. She reached out to me asking for info and I passed on the formal channel to request a flyover but with the holiday and short turn I doubt it will be supported.
I have a plane and thought it would be better than nothing, has anyone ever legally done such a think. I plan to reach out to the FSDO Tuesday but wondering if anyone one else has experience or ideas.
I suppose it depends on what type of "flyover" your planning.
I flew my 210 over my grandfathers funeral at a national cemetery, it was outside of controlled airspace and I stayed to 1000 feet agl so no issues. I might have made the second pass a bit lower but everyone in attendance knew who it was so no one called to say some maniac buzzing the place.

I wish they paid better, because it does look like a great job from the mission/flying aspect. Also, why aren’t there a bunch of ANG units doing this? Seems like that’s the perfect setup for a unit to do no-shit state missions, which is in theory a big reason the guard exists.
Just before fire season started there were 14 C130 here for training, flew for a week everyone got certified. I counted 8 different tails. So I think ANG is involved but based on what's here currently we have 4 water bombers, ba146, dc9, dash8 and an Aussie 737 so it would seem ANG is more backup or local area deterrent.

Does anyone have any first hand experience with a Rutan Long Ez?
I like the idea of 185kt on 8gph, +5.5/-2.5G for 1000 miles

Saw it today in Boise with Mark flying, great machine and a great restoration!

So here is my question.
if we went to (insert company) and said build us an aircraft that does "x,y,z" we need it in two years and needs to cost $x. And we remove DCMA do we get the plane we need on time?
Have manufactured for DOD on projects under DCMA I say yes.
Thoughts?

Anyone know why ATAC has four Hunters here in Boise?

Will the U2 crews ever be able to fly with the newer SpaceX type pressure suits? Seems like it would be quite an improvement (not that I would have any direct experience)

Generations and decades change but airlines and the management will always be the same.

Does anyone have input on 22-250?
Co-worker of mine loves this round for woodchuck, Prarie dogs, squirrels. Ballistics seem fun, wondering if it's worth the add since I already have .22 .22 mag and .223

I mean… it’s a pretty basic principle of establishing any form of ground security that 2 is 1 and 1 is none. Overlapping fields of fire from mutually supporting positions, stuff like that is a requirement.
It was never an either or with Kabul or BAF. The people asking why abandon BAF are doing so because what kind of idiot leaves themselves with only one security position and no mutual support.
We could have just as soon operated both, and left both at the same time. That would have actually made sense… which is probably why we didn’t do it. We are actually repeating a mistake learned by the Marines during Lebanon, and again 15 years ago with Restrepo, but like most AARs, it was filed in a filing cabinet we set on fire and buried underground.
Sent from my iPad using TapatalkThe decision was supposedly made by WH leadership to defend the embassy vs BAF. As they could not bring in additional troops to secure both meant that existing resources had to be transferred to embassy security.
We could not bring in more resources/assets in the midst of a "drawdown" because of public perception.
Apparently a functioning embassy with no way to evacuate was considered better for us than a defensible position with a secure runway.
What do I/we know we don't reside at 1600 Penns.

Hey, I know where you can get an M-4 and ammo real cheap! Maybe even an Apache helicopter if you have the cash and don't ask too many questions.
I'm in when do we leave 😁

Cool, was wondering what that one was like. I know someone mentioned it wasn’t that great, but I’m more willing to drop 300 cents on it just for some mindless action. Us airline guys get cheap sometimes, just didn’t want to pay $20 on Direct a couple of months ago. Thanks LR! One of my airline buds said The Tomorrow War was very good. I hope it is.
Tomorrow war wasn't bad, kind of a different spin on bad unstoppable creature kind of movies, at the end I wasn't pissed at wasting 2hrs

I thought it was interesting that the NTSB report list this as "Air racing/Air show event" I don't think that was an accidental typo.
