Thanks for the feedback, everyone. Could anyone in the C5 community give us what a typical availability looks like? I hear at some C5 units you do a TDY every few months and that's good enough. Is this correct?

Asking for a friend because I am not experienced with the heavy side of the house. Trying to get a feel for how much time are units asking out there. "My current unit (heavy) wants 8 days a month. I have seen other units as little as 2 days. I am losing a ton of money with the airlines at this point (CA at a legacy) but still have a service commitment. " Thoughts?

We had at least 4 cases where people washed out of 38s at Laughlin and ended up in toners or helos. Within the last 5 years.

Everyone here is freaking out about shit you can’t control! Yes shit will be delay, you won’t graduate on time and you will miss that deadline you had to make it to xyz airline. One thing I know for sure now that I am in is that the needs of the Air Force wont change. We still need pilots. We still need manning! I see it every day where I am at. Both fighters and heavies. So relax and work on those packages. Interviews will happen maybe not right away but they will happen. I just finished interviewing a guy via Skype! So relax! Shit will be rolling! Trust me we need you!

That totally makes sense! I remember him saying they got a bunch of resumes. Complete apps where a different story. But yea tons of resumes. Great unit btw.

Last time I spoke with them (yesterday) they told me they received a good amount of apps but no where near 200. If the airlines are your goal then the 135 works but at the end of the day the mission is not all exiting at least for me. Which could be a good thing for some. You will find the most chill group of pilots in the 135 community tho.

I highly doubt that. They are still a 135 unit. 😂😂
