  1. Any location that is willing to hire me, but my only if they let me commute from Hawaii. I got a military contractor job that let's me make my own schedule.
  2. Im a prior Army pilot that is a staff officer in the USAF ANG. I haven't flown in a while. Is their any openings for an old 0-5 as a TR helo pilot?
  3. So the flying IMA program is back?
  4. Yeah...I was originally a C-130 Navigator then resigned my commission in 2008 to become a Warrant Officer. I have those war stories to tell already. One combat tour in AFG for a 1 year was enough for me. I rather fly blue.
  5. I am a prior Army Aviator that is currently in the Air National Guard in an O-5 non-flying position. I haven't flown for several years and would like to get back into the cockpit in the ANG or AFRES. My options are limited to only vertical lift, since big USAF killed the Fixed Wing Qualification Program in 2012. I am searching for any suggestions.
  6. Does the 'Helicopter Only' limits (as per AFI 11-402) a prior Army aviator to HH-60's in the reserves/ ANG? Can I go CV-22 without FWQ or UPT?
  7. I haven't tried NY. I wouldn't think they would let me commute from Hawaii.
  8. Are there MSO jobs available for non-current Navs? I haven't flown since 2011.
  9. Way too old for FW slot. Plus, I am a senior O-4 in my 40's that just went to my O-5 board. I have reached out to CA, HI, AK & AZ already. I heard the pipeline at Kirtland is backed up right now. I heard there are CV-22's openings in the ANG, but they are only taking prior qualified guys.
  10. I am a former C-130 nav and Army CH-47D pilot. I have been sitting in staff job for the last five years and would like to get back into flying. Since the Fixed Wing Qualification course was cancelled in 2012, I am only limited helicopters in the USAF. Does anyone know about any ANG/Reserve HH-60 units willing to accept out-of-state commuters?
  11. I was one of those folks waiting for the FWQ to open up again. Maybe it will happen again?
  12. I'm on my sixth year of not operationally flying. Got out of the Army NG to pursue the FWQ in 2011. Stuck in staff position as a senior major in the ANG now.
  13. Does anyone know about staff jobs in the ANG that will let you fly? I heard these are coded API-8. I am curious if you are an non-current/ unqualified pilot, would these staff jobs cover the cost retraining at the schoolhouse to become basic mission qualified for any airframe?
  14. I have been an IMA for almost 5 years and would like to get back into flying in a ANG/ AFRES unit. I was a C-130 navigator and then transitioned to an Army Aviator as a warrant officer to fly helicopters. I discovered that the Army life, QOL, and 1 year deployments weren't for me. Got 're-commissioned' into an AFRES IMA staff job and got the itch to fly again. BTW, I go for my O-5 board soon. Any suggestions?
  15. I'm interested in the MSO job. Former CH-47 pilot and former MC-130P/C-130 Navigator. Please PM me on details.
  16. Termy, I couldn't find any written guidance on restrictions on rank and age (except for MSD that applies to all officers).
  17. I'm currently an IMA Major in the Air Force Reserve. It's been great being a staff dude for the last 4 years, but it's time to start flying again. I can't fly a desk anymore. I was a C-130 Navigator and prior Army helicopter pilot. Since I was rated, I thought there was no restrictions on age and rank to fly (helicopters). I was told by a HH-60 unit that my rank and age make it difficult for me to be a pilot. BTW, I will be having my first look at LtCol next year. Any thoughts or suggestions?
  18. Dustoffer, I was a Navigator in the USAF. After seeing how the Army manages their aircrew and aircraft, I had to find a way a back. Searching for a flying job for the last couple of years.
  19. DUSTOFFer/ AERO.DAVE13, I'm kinda in the same position. Long story short: I resigned my commission from the Air Force (ANG) to WO and decided the Army (NG) lifestyle was not for me. Flew Chinooks with 400+ hours. Decided to get my commission back and got a staff job as the quickest route back to Major in the AFRES. I'm trying to get a flying job in the USAF ANG/Reserve, but I am approaching my O-5 board soon. Any advice?
