Questions on TPS (Test Pilot School)
Yeah to echo what Termy said:, Make no mistake, if you actually want to pilot aircraft then try for UPT with the end goal of getting into TPS. FTEs are not rated and only fly occasionally.

Questions on TPS (Test Pilot School)
It seems to be about a sortie or two per week in my squadron, but that depends on their job. FTEs in the F-22/F-35 CTF/ITF are lucky if they fly once every couple of months.

Cannon AFB
He was the 306 FTG/CC at USAFA where he instructed in said aircraft. So he actually had a Form 8...not the same as an ABM putting F-15 on their bio. Only pilots should put "Aircraft Flown"; all others, "Aircraft Rode In".

This was the version that went to the board or simply what the squadron drafted?

Questions on TPS (Test Pilot School)
The board met two weeks ago. If selected for an interview, expect notification sometime in the next few weeks with interviews in the Sep-Nov timeframe.

True, leadership still pushes for school attendance, but no bets on what the DT and/or DEDB will decide. Still eligible for credit when you meet your IDE looks

Vermont Lawn Dart
No, the cameraman was just amazed to actually see a B-1 get airborne given it's reliability track record.

Vermont Lawn Dart
It cracks me up that the guy filming the whole things continues to pan towards the runway to record the B-1's takeoff almost as though the mishap he just filmed never happened. Edit: Cap-10 beat me to the punch; great minds think alike.

Not yet...Edwards still had old seats.

Fine, however, your original statement listed call signs along with other inappropriate items/actions without making any qualifications. The implication was that all call signs are inappropriate--that's simply not true.

What's wrong with call signs?

F-15E Gift Ideas
I don't doubt that, however, I've seen them in other squadrons and they were of better quality/accuracy than anything I could fashion.

F-15E Gift Ideas
Thread revival. I just wanted to know if any of the Eagle/Strike Eagle bros know where to order canopy bow outlines for use in flight briefs; our squadron could use some yet the standard AviatorGear, SnackoStuff, etc. only make briefing sticks. Thanks for the help.

VA Loans
We closed last week with NB of KC. Our agent, Greg Mealman (913-383-6452), was by far the most helpful participant during the process; moreso than our realtor. The negative points (lender credit), no loan origination charges, and rate of 3.25% are what drew us to KC. However, Greg's professionalism and willingness to answer our questions no matter how trivial no matter the time of day are what would lead us to go with KC again. Our realtor seemed concerned that we didn't go with a local lender (shocked), but no one else could offer the numbers KC did. Additionally, there was concern about closing in time when using a non-local bank, but Greg and KC delivered. KC runs a tight ship and Greg's work was outstanding.

Apparently having "good hands" no longer matters....
Cool, so Navy pilots are good at Motherhood...congrats. But what about the tactical aspects of flying a fighter?

Apparently having "good hands" no longer matters....
Reliance on automation and how to design aircraft failure modes for pilots who only know highly augmented aircraft was a major theme at a recent flight test safety conference. There are some interesting presentations (pdf format) located towards the bottom of the page. https://www.flighttestsafety.org/2012-austria

Interesting exchange (one-way mostly) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JGGaIZXZmAM- Tablet recommendations for civil flying
I know a handful of folks who use Avare on their Android OS based tablet. It's a free service and has just about anything a GA pilot would need/want.- WTF? (**NSFW**)
