  1. Thread revival: I'm looking at a unit 4 hours away, and I think it'd be good for my wife to see the area and the unit. I was invited to come down during the week and check it out and ask any questions I have, which I plan on doing. Any advice on taking your significant other for your first ever squadron visit?
  2. Any speculation on Minneapolis or St Joe ANG and their C130s?
  3. Duluth, MN 148th FW is hiring F16 pilots. http://www.148fw.ang.af.mil/shared/media/document/AFD-141105-040.pdf
  4. Des Moines, IA (132nd) no longer has the F-16, instead they have the MQ-9. Sioux City, IA (185th) has the KC-135 Both are Guard bases.
  5. What would you guys say is the best aircraft or mission for being a "full-time" guard bum? I'd like to make at least $50k+ bumming. I'm married, no kids.
  6. Nunya, would you say it's possible to make a decent living guard bumming flying C130s? I'm from a tanker unit, and I know a lot of pilots there guard bum, and the tankers are always going on trips. Whether it be 1 day, 3 days, 1 week, all the way to 3 months. I'm also looking at a couple C130 units, but I think I'd rather be full time guard bum than have a civ job (if it's even possible).
  7. Hey Toasty, I have some questions about flying C130s in Cheyenne since they're hiring now. I tried sending you a PM, but it said you're "Unable to receive messages". What's it like flying in Cheyenne? How many guys are "full time guard bums"? Or do most pilots have civilian jobs?
  8. Has anyone used the website http://afoqtguide.com/practice-exams? They have a couple of free practice tests and answers keys on there for the AFOQT. Does anyone know if those are any good or not (are the practice questions a similiar difficulty as the real test), or am I better off studying somewhere else? Thanks.
  9. Thread revival Are CV-22s dropping out of UH-1s, T-1s, or T-38s now? Any CV-22 pilots out there?
