Pretty much Whiting kicks ass. Single or not you can live right on the bay or beach, or up in Milton by the river. You can elect to try and stay at Whiting Pines which is the Navy's housing off base, but it feels like a giant RV ground, but with houses that look exactly the same. The words of the NCO's in charge of housing are...."you guys can do whatever you want, live in a storage unit for all I care".

See how they make the flyers look really hardcore...and then...you go....and then....you know.

I am here at ASBC enroute to whiting field for UPT. On the first PFT i noticed pretty bad pain on the right side of my right knee in the middle. Terrible pain when walking up stairs putting pressure on it. I am afraid to mention it to the staff because I do not want to be put on profile, but do not want to further injure this things. Always in great physical shape, but the 8 months after graduation and less than normal pt may have taken a toll on me. Anybody have advice on this type of pain and any treatments or what I might can do to prevent more severe injury without going on profile. THANKS IN ADVANCE

I wonder what would happen if I just showed up with 2 ABU sets instead of the "required" 3. Dont just have extra money laying around to go buy this stuff right now and hate wasting the money extra uniforms that will be used for like 2 months. I figured the military could cover at least some MRE's for us.

I am curious if anybody has gone through NAMI in pensacola for UPT at whiting field. I have already passed the fc1/mfs and wonder why I have to do the Navy's screening now. Seems unfair to have to go through two medical screenings just because I am joint training. Not really worried, but anytime you have to do ANOTHER screening you never know what a doc can find. Have hardware waiver as is and dont want to have to go through another test.....sigh..
