  1. This CGOC virus is spreading - today received mass email that:

    1) Was sent out by some other CGO on behalf of the usual CGO email spammer (they're updating their TTPs!)

    2) Also called out the OG and the MXG for not showing up to their events - email advertising upcoming event as a CRUD tutorial.

We're in the middle of the usual "do more with less" and everyone is out hacking the mish...pisses me off.

    edited for OPSEC :)

Shoes know how to play crud?

  2. I hope this got sent as a joke, because if not, this dimwit needs to be slapped...multiple times. Of course, a colonel claiming to be single handedly responsible for the success of the war in Iraq is not outside the realm of possibility.

  3. I've started thinking about MWS options post P-Cola. Of course the initial thought was 15E WSO which I still consider my top choice but knowing how the AF is, I think it's probably best to have something else in mind. Can anyone tell me some UNCLAS details of the MC-130 mission? Pros vs Cons? Any other recommendations for CSO as far as airframes are concerned?

Sort of depends on what version of the MC you're talking about. There's a Talon, a Shadow and a Spear. They all do sorta the same thing, low level insertion of spec ops bubbas and chopper refueling, but I know there are some dudes on here who fly those so I'll leave the details to them, lest I fnck it up. As to airframes post P-Cola...depends on what you want to do. If you want to go Mach 2 and pulls Gs and shit, Strike Eagles would probably be a good deal. If you want to haul stuff, kick Army dudes out the back and go literally everywhere, you might go slicks. If you want to drop a shit-ton of ordnance and strike the fear of God into bad guys, you might consider B-52s. Just talk to your instructors when you get down there to get an idea what their life was like. And be sure to ask, just as you did in your question, about the pros AND the cons. And unless you're married, make the decision for you. Don't let anybody else, girlfriend, classmate, whoever, influence your decision. Make it for yourself.

  4. While this is thinking well into the future; I don't plan on staying a Nav, so I wouldn't say never... The concepts I was asking about would apply to all fighters.

Hope the Air Force agrees with your plan. Or they might tell you STFU and color and get back to your INS and chart. Lots of surface area there!

  5. Geaux Tigers!!

Four years (well, probably more like five for most of you) and you dumbass cajuns still can't spell GO right. Enjoy it while it lasts, because your asses are gettin' stomped come football season.

  6. Lt. Col. Doug Antcliff, a standards and evaluation pilot from 19th Air Force, has flown the Tweet for the last 11 years. He said the aircraft is the same today as it was in 1991 when he was a student pilot. But, it doesn't make it any easier to see an "old friend" retire.

    HOW???

the rest of us are getting nailed with UAV and a horde of Alpha billets while one guy stick in one airframe. Did he ever see combat? A flying shoe???

    Maybe he's a reservist IP.

  7. All the EW instructors here keep bending our ear with that interchangeable seat stuff, but the instructors navs keep saying no, that's just to get you to track EW. You'd have too many currencies to keep up with to make it a realistic possibility. I've also heard recently the FTU has begun to dual qualify navs right out of the schoolhouse so you have the capability to sit in either seat downstairs. How this will actually play out I'm not sure, but that's what I've been told.
