  1. I'm a fairly young co so I am curious to compare other MWS experiences. On every TDY I've been on in the 135 we bring at least 2 Crew Chiefs/Specialists with us. I've spent some time talking with these dudes on the bus, in the bar and in the jet learning about what they do and why they do it that way.

Fighter guys, what kind of similar opportunities do you get? I've flown around some F-15 & F-18 MRTs so I know you don't necessarily have crew chiefs with you everywhere you go (thanks for breaking at Wake, I had a blast there ).

Other AMC type guys, do you bring FCC's everywhere you go?

  2. A South Florida doctor has died after authorities say she was accidentally strangled by a electronic neck massager on Christmas Eve.

Kenneth Gegerson called 911 after finding his wife's body on the bedroom floor next to the neck massager. Paramedics pronounced 37-year-old Michelle Ferrari-Gegerson dead at the scene. Authorities believe her necklace got caught in the massager and it quickly tightened around her neck.

    Riiiggghhhhtttt...."Neck Messager"...

  3. I just went to my first gun show and fell in love with the 1911. I noticed a large variation in prices amongst the tables between Colt and Springfield and the others. I don't know too much about guns so I was hoping to get some insight on why the prices were so different (aside from the obvious pearl inlays and gold and what-not). Also, this is going to be my first firearm so I was looking to get some direction as to which type of 1911 is a better value.

  4. FIFA chief causes anger with Qatar gay sex comments

The mainly Muslim country, which will host the tournament for the first time, forbids same-sex relationships by law.

"I would say that they should refrain from sexual activities," Blatter answered on Monday, after a long pause.

"We are living in a world of freedom and when the World Cup will be in Qatar, this will be in 2022. And you can see in the Middle East the opening of this culture. It is another culture because it is another religion, but in football we have no boundaries."

"He's really saying don't even 'look' gay, re-closet yourself and pretend the ties and love and affection you have for your partner or even some random bloke you might meet on your travels are gone for the whole time you are in Qatar."

However, Blatter insisted that gay people would have no such problems in Qatar in 2022.

"I think there shall not be any discrimination against any human beings on this side or that side -- or left or right or whatever," he told reporters.

"And we don't want to have any discrimination. So you can be assured that ... if people want to watch a match in 2022 I am sure they will be admitted to such matches.

"What we want to do is open this game to all people to all cultures, and this is what we are doing in 2022."

If they black list us from the country for sliding our IDs to them under the glass imagine what would happen...

  5. No, but you have to admit it's strange.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B9EpqBf0oCY&feature=related

Here is what is strange. How did The Body get past security and into the Terminal without a Pat-Down?! Idiots. They built an Airport on a large enough piece of land in a growing city so they would have room for expansion. I grew up on the outskirts of O'Hare and can remember all the debates and votes about expanding the runways. Denver is a relatively young and expanding city and the people that built KDEN learned the lessons from cities like Chicago and Boston and New York and built their airport in a place that allowed for necessary expansion without as much hassle. The people that make this show need to be asking themselves what those strange smoke trails that come off the wings of the KC-10 are...that is the real mystery!

  6. Just in time for Halloween, there's trouble brewing for a California beer distributor that has gotten into hot water with the nation's wiccan community over an ale called Witch's Wit -- whose label depicts a woman being burned at the stake.

Witch's Wit is one of Port Brewing Company's Lost Abbey beers, which the distributor calls "inspired beers for saints and sinners alike." Each beer sports a label that aims to tell a story about the struggle between good and evil.

But Vicki Noble, a famed healer, astrologer and spiritual leader in the pagan community, saw only evil in Witch's Wit after a worker in a liquor store called the bottle to her attention last week.

Incensed at the image of a witch being burned at the stake, Noble sent an e-mail to her followers, asking in the subject line: "Can we stop this brewer from their hate imagery?"

"Can you imagine them showing a black person being lynched or a Jewish person going to the oven?" she asked. "Such images are simply not tolerated in our society anymore (thank the Goddess) and this one should not be, either."

    Complete Story Above

    Another Story

#1 That bottle looks pretty cool and if I saw it in the store I would probably pick up a six pack.

    #2 WTF is a wiccan?

#3 If you don't like it STFU and don't buy it.

#4 I am WAY more offended by reading her question above than by seeing the painting on the bottle.

  7. Anyone have any updated information on base housing at McConnell AFB, KS? I will report around 21 January to the 349th and am trying to get an idea on any details staying on base (or off if on base sucks). Am qualified for a 4 bdrm

There are new duplex style houses and there are old houses. They are in the process of moving people out of the old houses and tearing them down build more duplexes. It is a crap shoot what you will get. There are lot's of areas within a 5 minute drive that are nice.

  8. How long would it take to properly stow those shades?

Let me just move my hat, charts, forms, pens and pencils, gloves, dip, spitter, spare t-shirt and wet wipes (absolutely necessary after an hour and a half plus on the ground in a non-air conditioned cockpit) cell phone, ipod, and book/magazine/newspaper/notebook out of the way to make room for some more shit to put in my pockets. Nope.

  9. Still cannot believe that the "Right Start" briefing at the Deid lasts 3 hours. How much usless information that could be handed to you to read, or even posted on the web is insane.

It could probably be cut to an hour if all 30 briefers didn't repeat what the other one had already said. You don't have to remind me 100 times to drink water...it's freaking hot out.

  10. Aussie controller in Kuwait last night was on a roll.

    Kuwait: Emirates328 maintain mach .80

    Emirates: We are maintaining .70

Kuwait: I understand that, but if you don't accelerate to .80 you will have an EA6 up your APU.

    Kuwait: ****25 say mach.

    25: .70

    Kuwait: ****17 say mach.

    17: .85

25: Kuwait, we can push it up to .82

Kuwait: SOLD! To the man in the funny hat! ***25 accellerate and maintain .82 break break ***17 slow and maintain .82

Maybe not as funny when you read it second hand, but he was giving us some good laughs.
