Boom Operator Q&A
Highly doubtful your class date will change. There are many forces at work that determine who goes where and when and "wanting to go earlier" isn't one of them. They have to line you up not only for BBOC/BIQ at Altus, but EAUC at Lackland first and Survival at Fairchild/P-Cola. That's a lot of moving parts to be moving around just because you don't want to wait. Keep your chin up, you'll be there before you know it. Hell, even if you were able to get it moved to the left, by the time all the changes got made, it would be May anyway. Sit back, relax and enjoy the dead time. Congrats on the retraining, you won't be dissapointed.

Buff tail question
Fly the stab into position? Not really. The 135 has a horizontal stab, elevators, and what I think you're referring to known as elevator trim tabs. The H-Stab is electrically or manually driven and stays in place unless manipulated by the crew. The elevator still controls pitch and the elevator trim tabs assist the movement of the elevator at higher speed as the 135 is still a cable driven aircraft when it comes to flight controls (minus the rudder but that's a different story).

Combat Systems Officer (CSO) info; Nav, EWO, WSO
I know the U-28 program is still held pretty closely but can someone in-the-know give me an idea to the in-flight duties of a Nav on a U-28? Is it true they sit right seat? Tempo wise probably best for a single guy right?

Just overheard someone in the shop talking about how someone told her that Facebook told them not to wear the RB. It was all I could do to not burst into laughter!

Gun Talk
Perhaps referring to the Geneva Conventions? As long as it's a ball round (sts), we're good right? Whatever happened to the good ole .45? I'd take ANY .45 over a Beretta 9mm. Glock is clearly false advertising though.

I Hate Reflective Belts
I can understand not bad-mouthing leadership (or lack thereof) but the protest of a clearly asinine policy should be fair game. On another note, it's funny how the DoD as a whole as recently begun to embrace the social networking sites (facebook, you tube, twitter, etc) but do you think they ever saw something like this coming? I'm wondering how they feel about it now and what they'll do about it...if anything.

Outcomes of dropout/SIE (Self Initiated Elimination)
I've got the CSO slot and more than happy about it. I'll be too old once I become eligible to re-apply to UPT, just wanted to ask the question out of general curiosity. It is a damn shame for all parties involved when dudes SIE, not to mention guys like me that could have put that slot to much better use.

Outcomes of dropout/SIE (Self Initiated Elimination)
One can hope. Thanks gents...

Outcomes of dropout/SIE (Self Initiated Elimination)
It may be a lost cause but has there been cases of guys picked up for OTS as a Nav/CSO and later offered a UPT slot later due to SIE's and other factors?

Leadership at the 'Deid
This thread is like a train wreck....I can't look away. I haven't been to the Deid since 2005 but the more I read the more I realize things haven't changed; they've only spiraled further and further out of control. How's that whole war thing going?

F-15E Gift Ideas
No idea dude, sorry. AMARC at D-M wouldn't be a bad place to start. The nice thing is the M61 was used on many different airframes so broaden your search to 16s, 15C's etc.

F-15E Gift Ideas
Maybe a bit extreme but an old neighbor of mine got his hands on a barrel from the M61, had it chromed and mounted it on a plaque for hanging as a going away gift. Thing looked pretty badass.

Classic Thread - Security Forces (SFS) Tales
A positive note for the SF canine unit on Ramstein: After my truck was stolen then recovered last week, I thought it'd be a good idea to have a drug dog sweep it for whatever they may have left behind. Those guys were more than willing to help and called in a patrol unit to come to the kennel for a 69 second sweep of my truck. Nothing found other than piece of mind.

Outcomes of dropout/SIE (Self Initiated Elimination)
When you SIE, do me a favor and give them my name to take your place! I've been trying to go to UPT for quite some time now. Thanks.

Outcomes of dropout/SIE (Self Initiated Elimination)
Sounds to me like you have blinders on and have this idea of this perfect life with the perfect woman and simply refuse to believe it could be any other way. Fact is there ARE other women. There are NOT extra pilot slots. I wish you the best of luck and everything but don't let anyone else make a decision like that for you. Especially from the assholes on this forum [/sarcasm]. SIEs are just that, self-initiated. If you're not happy in the end, it's no ones fault but your own. And for the sake of everyone's eyesight, use the damn return button every once in a while.
