  1. If it’s Vivek or Desantis, this will be my second time voting for what seems to be a good presidential candidate. Reagan was my first chance voting, and I was proud to vote. Since then, I’ve either pinched my nose and voted, or knowingly threw my vote away voting for someone not on the ballot.

I still know my support of Fred Thompson was correct and grounded in 2008!

Words …… Trump dicked it up too.  To me, it's like trump assessed our current condition and against most elected and appointed bureaucratic officials preemptive blocking, established relative peace in the Middle East, took measures to gain energy independence, established fairer trade deals in Asia, encouraged US companies to bring tech and manufacturing home, appointed constitutional  jurist to federal courts, with varying degrees of success - conducted peaceful dialogue with a few rogue nations, stopped catering to the UN’s every silly cause with a strong UN ambassador, considerably shored up the U.S.’ Southern border, helped establish low unemployment while fostering an economy that was firing on most cylinders, low inflation numbers, demanded the world pay a bit more of their share for US assured world peace, (other things I’m forgetting) … then he took a shit on your doorstep, rang your doorbell, …(disagree with this section of your rant) … flips you double birds, and walks off.

And that is who you want back in office?

Not really, but over anything the left offers, I’d take Trump.

    I’d love an actual conservative.

  3. If line flyers aren’t pressing to test at every opportunity they are getting what they deserve. If your leadership is like some of the “repect my authorati” types on here, I’d wear a dif colored one every day just to piss them off. As an experienced Capt excellent at the mission, we had a pretty good layer of Teflon during my time in SAC, and I’d expect competent aviators still have some today.

my ANG base... a tanker base out of all places, no more morale shirts. Some damn first shirt at the wing level complaint and now it's a big no-no. So f@#$ those guys I am wear a scarf as a big F you to these NONers.

That sgt needs a good old fashioned Marine code red (if that is even a real thing) to help recalibrate his/her priorities.

  5. I praised the increase in level of play too soon. This last game team USA looked like they were just called out of the stands to try their hand at soccer. They lacked even basic skills. Couldn’t control the ball receiving passes, seemed to not understand the basics of leading a player when passing, field vision was lacking, appeared to just want to kick and pray the ball went somewhere advantageous, a total disaster.

I can def. see how a HS boys team beat them.

  6. Clark, any thoughts on parlaying some of Bartini’s ground effect ideas (Biffs shared video above) into any sea plane plans. It wouldn’t have altitude to use defensively but, if it could do 300 to 400 knots at 50 to 100 feet off the deck efficiently while carrying huge loads, it could still prove pretty handy. He dreamt big, but I’d guess there’d still be some serious utility from many of his ideas both commercially and militarily.

  7. I agree. As a many people have observed players on our national team should show appropriate respect or they shouldn’t play on our team. There are plenty of great players who don’t hate our country. The bad apple theme applies here. Some old fashioned discipline would immediately change the character and actions of the remaining players. The coach should lead and set expectations for behavior, or be replaced.

  8. True, the Vietnamese squad was playing to not lose by 13 goals. As ClearedHot said above, they were very aggressive and physical (one could say dirty at times) to disrupt any smooth open play and keep us from getting in a grove.

  9. Have fun and fly your butt off.

Know your job well and volunteer for every flight or skill improving opportunity available.

Press boundaries when and where appropriate.

Spend time with maintainers to see what they do to keep you safely airborne.

As stated above, look after the Es who are taking care of your planes and life support equipment.

  10. Any of you field fairy fans watching any WC soccer? Vietnam played pretty well against the heavily favored U.S. squad. The Vietnamese goal keeper was pretty aggressive and did a good job of controlling her defense against a strong US offensive group.

At the risk of sounding elitist, the women’s game is definitely getting better each year. Volleyball and soccer are my two favorite team sports to watch so I always enjoy watching top notch national teams compete.
