Although they have cut the production numbers significantly, I am curious to know if technology currently supporting the F-35 variants will make transition to F-22. Loosing the hud and transitioning the HMD to obtain 360 SA (if not already obtained??) would be just one of the advantages to a block mod. Is there any raptor dudes on here to comment on how this may or may not be something you would like to see happen. There is a ton of goodies in the F-35 that I am surprised havent already made it to the raptor. -summers

Had a guy tap me on the shoulder and ask me if I was a TOMCAT pilot because I was wearing a tomcat shirt. This is primarly aimed at the guard dudes.. Just recently I was hired by Lockheed as an engineering manager on the JSF..(which I am fukin stoked about, and dont want to "burn any bridges")with a start date of april 20. They know im in the guard, but what they dont know is that I just got selected for a pilot slot. I am not going to turn down the UPT slot. I have heard dudes saying "get your foot in the door then tell them your going to pilot training, and they will let you come back" My dates for AMS and UPT havent come out yet so im thinkin I have at least 6 months or so to work with lockheed. Anyone been through a similar situation?? I heard something about a relief act for soldiers or something, I am currently researching it.... Thanks dudes.. -summers

We are slated to recieve the F-35 in 2028 to replace our "newly aquired"STS A-10C's. I do not know which variant we will get, but I wholeheartedly agree that there needs to be a more than suitable replacement for the Hog, and so far....I dont see the JSF being the winner at this point. Just my $.02 -summers
