Can the commander give you an additional 20 or something days? I thought I remember that somewhere.

Does anyone know anything about permissive leave that a Commander can authorize for people separating? Is that a thing? I have about 55 days stockpiled, but wondering if I can add to it for terminal. Thanks for the kind words brothers!

I don’t know yet about continuation. My Commander called me late Friday night. He said that a letter was supposed to be attached to the email he got about my passover but MPF forgot to attach it. He said we will talk Monday. Thanks again guys. I feel like I just won the lottery.

Well Gents, it’s been fun but Duck is now a twice passed over Captain on his way out the door. I appreciate all of you who reached out and offered me advice throughout the years. I know that I will have a ton of questions going forward as I transition to the next step. This community is awesome and I love (most of) you guys.

Still nothing at my base (besides the two upper level execs being notified). I did have a friend look me up on the list and my name wasn’t on there, but until I hear it officially, I am holding off on the Duck Passover Party (clothing optional).

That is all dependent on the wing and how fast they distribute results.

I would be surprised if it’s 100% (w/no negative indicators). I think the AF put the cart before the horse and is now working on the optics when they end up pushing out another 95% selection rate board. They could have saved face by not running their mouths and talking about a 100% board, but they just couldn’t help themselves. Just a feeling, it will be interesting to see the stats.

So now I know why the AF never updated the Status of Promotion Boards... They blamed OSD just a week ago for being the cause of the delay, even though it made it through the whole OSD process in 17 working days (they shoot for 18). The AF then proceeded to sit on the results for an additional month before doing anything. I found out yesterday that the reason for this last holdup was "MAJCOM Commander Action" at CORONA. No clue what that means, and I have never even heard of this before, but this was the reason for the last holdup.

Any word on if the wings have the list yet?

Sheppard had a mandatory 2 flights with IFF for T-6 IPs including brief and debrief. Not enough, but at least it was something. I like the AGR idea, but I just don’t think you would find enough guys at >15 year mark who would sign up. As time goes on and if the airlines keep hiring, I think you will only have two types of people in the AF, guys with less than 12 years and guys who are bonus takers committed to 20+. The middle guys you are talking about will be eroded out.

No way in hell. They are trying to cut the timeline not add to it. If they could do all of IFF in a simulator they would.

Tried to register for ACSC and it said that my rank was not eligible, so I went back and changed my rank to Major and it still said not eligible. So it obviously doesn’t just look at the rank in your profile. Not putting too much stock in it, but here’s to hoping.

Most of us are gone. My group got hit with a ton of UAVs, Capt promotion boards, two VSPs and a RIF. I have more yet group friends flying for Delta now than I do left in the AF. Back when they opened up crossflow for us, I asked a lot of my buddies if they would sign up for a 3 year ADSC to fly the fighters they were promised and not a single one said they would. The ship is sinking gents, grab a life vest and hold on.
