  1. Wrong.

I want -real- solutions (i.e. fixing the immigration process and rules), not a monument. While a wall may put a minuscule dent, it certainly won't stop all, or even most, illegal entries.

Why not attack the cause, the why, of illegal immigration rather than slapping on a band-aid?

The quickest way I know to attack the “cause” is to make America suck just as bad as the countries people are leaving. Good news, we are well on our way to solving illegal immigration!

  2. I know of a couple who were able to do some sort of “horse trading” etc to ensure that the wife (late rated UPT stud) ended up with identical orders to her husband who was a MWS guy. The caveat was that she had to “earn” the location. He had orders to a nice base but when she tanked UPT, they gave her the worst assignment for his MWS and AFPC amended his orders to match. So yeah it does happen. I would say be proactive. It might be a situation though where you get an assignment first and then they work through the FAIP drop to get her to join you later. That’s probably more likely than her getting early parole.

  3. Yeah man, I just don’t see how they will get this info unless you disclose it to them. If you do, I could see them raising some sort of stink about it because it seems like that’s what they do best. Just remember these aren’t YOUR doctors, they aren’t there to treat you or diagnose you. It’s an interrogation, the less said the better. Just my advice.

  4. Are these medical records something you have to turn over? The reason I ask is because I know a guy who didn’t disclose that he had a concussion snowboarding once and also had PRK laser correction surgery. I’m not advocating dishonesty, I’m also not advocating you telling them every time you had a drunken rager and hooked up with the ugly chick while in college.

  5. Anyone ever have issues getting medical clearance from the ANG? I was medically cleared to Palace Front, then approved Palace Front by AFPC, hired by a unit with a position number but then have been sitting around for the last 2 months because the NGB won’t sign my medical clearance. Apparently my Guard unit sent it to the State who sat on it for a while then realized it had to be approved by the NGB (food allergy waiver while on AD). They sent it back to the unit who scrambled and sent it up to the NGB where it has sat for the last month and a half. It’s almost like the ANG doesn’t really need pilots I guess. Lol

  6. If all illegals were to suddenly disappear, the immediate impact would be a loss of $11.6B in tax revenues, roughly 8 million jobs that are dependent on the economic activity of that population would be lost, and low skilled labor costs would rise which in turn would cause in increase in the costs of goods and services to consumers.

So we replace them with legal documented workers through the immigration system.

  7. During my interview at Southwest, the Captain interviewing me point blank asked me if I was considering Guard or Reserves. When I said I wasn’t sure, she told me that I should find a Guard unit and that my Active Duty time was too valuable to throw away. She then said that Southwest loves their Guard/Reserve guys. I thought they weren’t supposed to ask you about this, but she was just giving me professional advice to do both.

  8. As advertised. I am now on terminal leave and also got s job with a major airline. Stress level zero and never been so happy in my life.

Yes, it trumps UPT, PCS, Adv flying training ADSCs. The only thing that you need to check is the GI bill transfer of benefits eligibility. This is all from memory so please check me on this. If you decline continuation but separate at the mandatory 6 month date, you can keep your transfer benefits even if you still owe time on the ADSC. If however you try and move it up you MAY lose the transfer.

  9. I’ve never been to a naming where neither the CC nor DO were present. If both are unavailable, it gets rescheduled. There’s a reason for that...and it’s what we are talking about right now.
    Fail

We did these “namings” for the students at my UPT base while I was an instructor. The Sq/CC always knew when we were doing them but I never saw him or the DO. I never had any issues with them in my flights but a couple of my buddy Flt/CCs had issues with students getting arrested by SF walking back to their dorms (gmafb)and another one had an issue where one student went to the hospital for alcohol poisoning. In both cases, the Sq and Wg Commanders took care of it at the lowest level possible and life went on.
