Anyone caught sleep walking in basic was shown the door.

When I PCS'ed from Okinawa to Lakenheath, I was reimbursed $500 of the $7,000 total to get both of my beagles here. I believe they reimbursed us for a portion of the kenneling cost while finding a house.

Class III and waiver approved as of today :) Pretty stoked.

Not sure if the European IP thing will screw you or not but if you have an Xbox360 or a newer Bluray player you can download movies directly from Netflix to the box and watch that way. Would save on the mailing times.
IP will screw you on everything overseas. Xbox, online tv, and etc.

The UK has a version of Netflix that i was using for a while when blu ray first started. Was playing them on my US PS3. Eventually they started region coding more and more discs so we ended up cancelling it though.

Yep, but it is starting to get a little better. Just when the new administration was elected, there was a rush on ammo and what little could be found was very expensive. Now it is starting to show up at shows and such, but the prices are still high. 9mm and .45ACP can be found at decent prices in a few outdoors stores such as Cabela's and Academy, but less popular ammo such as .380 can only be found at gun shows for about 3x the price it used to be.
Oddly enough, I was able to find .455 Webley at Cabela's a few weeks ago, and for only $17 for a box of 20. But I was limited to two boxes...
Cheers! M2
Yeah, there were at least 300 price tags with no boxes above them. There was also signs EVERYWHERE stating the limits. Everything was limited to 2 boxes but some had limits of 1 per customer. Crazy.

Power will work with no issues other than a plug adapter but I'm not sure on the PAL deal.

Back in the States on leave and stopped by a Scheels to dream. They didn't have SQAUT for handgun ammo. Is that standard lately?

"Because they can." It's a way to bleed more money out of the paying customer. It's the flip side to the coin of "buy a round-trip, only use the first half" part of the game, but the airline controls this one.
One way to beat it, if you're willing to gamble: "miss" your connection at MSP [easier to be convincing if it's a fairly tight connection or if customs is busy], then plead your case w/ the ticket agent at the airport, say you need to get going right away, you have family locally who can loan you a car, but that you'll need to return the car before your return trip, so pretty-please can they change your return ticket from MSP...? May not hurt to work in that your time is short due to your limited military leave....
This will probably work if missing your flight is at ALL plausible *and* if there's not another flight on that airline leaving within the next couple of hours; otherwise, probably not. BTW, if you need to kill time at MSP, there's a great non-USO military lounge there at the main terminal....
Good luck!
We only have a 1.5 hour layover. Will be cutting it close with getting through customs and what not. I'm counting on not making it as there isn't another flight into OMA that night. If that happens we'll be good because it will be better for us to leave back out of OMA anyway. We'll see I guess.

Would recommend staying away from Ryanair if possible. The fares are cheap, but the extra dollar you are spending on a legitimate company is worth it. Ryanair flies out of small offsite airports and the service is sketchy at best
I hear this quite often but I have been using them for 4 years now quite frequently and haven't had any issues other than the non stop sales to passengers while in the air. Well worth it for the cheap fares.

To piggyback on this thread, what is the reasoning behind the following situation for the airline
I have a round trip flight booked from UK to Nebraska with a plane swap in MSP. Our families plans have changed and it would be better for us to just get off and stay off in MSP rather than take the puddle jumper down to Omaha. Called the airline and they say that if we don't use the whole ticket, the return trip will be canceled. Can someone give me a reason why this would be? In my eyes, the airline is making out both ways as the plane will be three people lighter and they are still getting their money. They can even open those seats to standby passengers.

Did the above tests as well for my waiver. Everything came out fine. Here is to hoping.

Not any longer you don't.

Anyone see a $2.00 ATM Service fee show up? Normally I get about 12 dollars BACK for fees. This month I was charged $2.00. Don't think I used the ATM's that much more this month.
-
What do you guys pay for your plans? I've heard it is up near 70 dollars a month!

Going to attempt to cross into the FE world this summer. I had a bad concussion back in 98 (high school). Is this going to require a waiver for my flight physical?

Yeah, you're right, I now see how 3 qualifies as "a whole lot". Thanks for clearing that up for us.
There are more than you think. Not enough, but some.
https://www.usatoday.com/news/washington/20...-congress_x.htm
Sen. Max Baucus, D-Mont., lost his nephew, Philip, in Iraq. Rep. Joe Wilson, R-S.C., says his son, Alan, had two close calls: one from an improvised explosive device, the other from a sniper.Rep. Todd Akin, R-Mo., credits his nightly prayers with his son Perry's narrow escape from a mortar attack in Fallujah.
Almost four years into the war, the conflict in Iraq has begun to touch some of the lawmakers who authorized it in a very personal way.
That reality — which stands in stark contrast to the popular stereotype of Congress — will be embodied tonight by Sen. Jim Webb, the Virginia Democrat delivering the response to President Bush's State of the Union address.
Webb's eldest son, Jimmy, is a Marine in the combat zone. He can't bring himself to talk about his son — not even to the president — but others speak eloquently of their loved ones' sacrifices.
"I understand and sympathize with the Americans who continue to support this war because they do not want their family and friends to have died in vain," Baucus said of his nephew's death in a Senate speech Feb. 10. "I know what it is like to pray for a reason and to become determined not to lose."

Finished it the other night. Great stuff. Not a pilot but would have loved to be a fly on the wall out there during the years. Really wish the maintainers would have ponied up some info for the book. I'm sure some of the miracles they pulled off on a daily basis will be good fodder for another book :)

The second batch of books were dropped off to someone at Lakenheath on Friday, however I have been told today that the APO would not post them because my name and address was on the back of the envelopes :(.
So, the plan is for the LN guy to replace these labels with his own name and address, and then revisit the APO during the course of this week. Apologies for the inconvenience, but the labels were not a problem the first time around!
Books should be with you all at some point next week.
Cheers
Steve
Sorry Steve, I should have told you they gave me grief about them as well. I just marked them out and came back the next day. Didn't know you were sending more out.

Cheers, Steve! My copy arrived today and it looks great.
I sent the remaining copies out yesterday (Tuesday).
