  1. I would have never signed a 10 year commitment if I had known there was a UAV possibility. I hate UAVs with a passion.

Had I known I would have went to a different service that lets their enlisted fly UAVs.

  2. I used to be the same way. I've spent the last few years at home berating anyone in the States who wore them. Plastic shoes with holes? YGBFSM.

BUT, as Stiffler puts it, I guess I sold out. When they outlawed open toes at the chow hall, it was just easier to consolidate shoe needs and suck it up. I don't like roaming around in tennis shoes if not working out, and I sure as hell don't wanna put shoes and socks on every time I just wanna run to chow.

Are they :rainbow: ? You bet your ass they are. But they get the job done. And packing more shoes to accomodate all the rules out here is just as much being a girl.

I could care less... I sure ain't the only one here wearing them, and they'll never even leave my deployment bag when I get home.

Crocs are gay but so is the deid. I got some camo colored crocs from payless though. So convenient.

  3. I'm at the deid now and C17s aren't getting out of CC anytime soon. However most everyone has their own room now. The wifi is supposed to be online july 15 but i'm not holding my breath. I think the war will be over first.

  4. for fps the the base really matters as to how much you'll fly. I'm in CHS and a Mchord guy I know that graduated UPT after me has almost 200 more hours than me. Charleston sucks because of the politics, the J-alerts, lack of trips. The city is great though and I love the jet.

  5. They are mandatory... but you can still get by without them just fine. If you are coming to the Deid soon, bring lots of CASH to avoid finance all together - like 200 bucks for each month you're gonna be here.

who told you that? i was in deid finance last week and they told me its not mandatory and they don't know who's spreading the rumor that its mandatory. They will still cash checks.

In other news the wifi will be up by the 15 of july. I'm not holding my breath. The new cadillacs will be finished before the wifi gets here. That or the war will be over first.

  6. I was in the same boat as you but I was ignorant and didn't even know I needed a helmet at Altus. I just checked out a loaner while I was there. When I got back I outprocessed and a life support guy casually informed me that I needed a helmet before I left. He gave me a brand new one and sent me on my way. You probably just aren't talking to the right guy.
