This pretty much describes the ROE for all of my deployments in the last 12 years...

Damn, that thread was nearly 18 years ago.  We need a "where are they now" type thread lol.

Crazy stuff you have here, didn't even know this stuff was a thing.  Then again, I'm a caveman when it comes to most thing technology related.

Anyone at Delta have any better insight than me on this WOM? My buddy at Delta said his buddy at Delta (member of the union team) said their next proposed contract has a 59% pay increase.
    💵 💰

We just got an update from the negotiators last night that said, with respect to pay rates, the company hasn't moved from their initial offer.

Please tell me the guard leadership told said AD Zebra Douche to pound sand?

The response was pretty much, "get over it dude, we didn't bring any issued PT gear with us."  Now lets move on to real issues that are actually important, like half the force having the shits because the shitters are leaking into the water that is used to wash/cook our food...

They also tried to take our rooftop "fanta drink 🥃" and cigar hide out.  MFers....just point the radar dishes the other way! 😂  I think it was Rainman that said war is only fun for the first year.  In our case, it was only fun for about 3 weeks...

  5. Quote

Tucker believed that his tax home was in Dallas, as that is where his supervisor was located he believed his best tax advantage was (before being caught).

Just fixing a quote from the article lol.

  6. AF:  Here is your issued Boonie hat.  You have to bring it because it's on the mandatory packing list.

Also AF (in country):  You can not wear that Boonie hat...here is the memo stating so.

    True story.

DOD:  No PT gear in your deployed location, just duty uniforms or civies...don't even bring PT gear.

*Guard unit gets moved to new location in AOR to stand up AOG, things are going great...then AD shows up*

AD Chief:  why are your people in civies and not AF PT gear?  AFI blah blah blah says duty uniform or pt gear...no civies.

    Also true story.

You know we spy on our allies as well right? There was a big hoopla in the 2000's because France found surveillance equipment in their embassy from the US.

What's the latest scuttlebutt on negotiations for everyone? The AAL's BOD is reviewing the TA at the moment. It does NOT look promising.

If what I saw earlier today is what the AAL BODs is reviewing, then we're all likely screwed.  Here's hoping it gets shot down.

Meh, if we're to believe the article, the dudes were doing the contract either way and were only agreed after the fact.  Not naive enough to realize that some may have been planning on this from the start and if so, great!  But I don't believe the Chinese started this program without the hopes of getting information (which they may very well have gotten...). But good on the pilots for taking them up on the offer, this goes back to my "unless they're teaching them to get shot in the face with an AMRAAM," comment.

Has the US or UK made it illegal for an American veteran to go train with the Chinese military?  If not, then why not if they’re our enemy?  And I’m pretty sure it’s illegal to disclose classified information even after you’ve separated/retired.  So in that case, that’s wrong whether they’re sharing that info with the Chinese or the UAE pilots.

Do you think they're over there only to teach them the finer points of flying an ILS?  I doubt these dudes think they're training these pilots with the idea that they will be fighting along side us some day.

    34 minutes ago, HeloDude said:

If you guys are upset that a couple hundred pilots are training Chinese pilots but not upset that our economy is so intertwined with China then perhaps I can make an analogy that might make more sense:  This is the same as being concerned  that a fentanyl/heroin/cocaine addict smokes a few cigarettes a day but not being concerned about the hard drugs he is using.  The few cigarettes a day that he smokes isn’t good, but that’s not the larger issue here.

I'm not upset at all, I mean, I even LOL'd in my post .  But seriously, I should have been more clear, I don't care about your discussion on the trade issue in relation to these guys.  You can worry about our trade issues while still holding the opinion I do.  It won't change my opinion on these dudes (not that it matters anyway).

  11. 9 hours ago, HeloDude said:

If you don’t like China (I don’t), then don’t fly for them.  But I would never call someone a traitor for doing so.

I would.  I understand your drift, but my opinion remains.  I mean, the .gov didn't freak out over F-35s being built with Chinese alloys because the Chinese are our friends...  I couldn't care less about trade talk, if a SEAL left the Navy and went to train Chinese Special forces how to fight SEALs, the dude is a traitor.  The same thing applies here...especially if he's passing information about our TTPs/classified data.  Now if he's teaching them to do things that will get them shot in the face with a AMRAAM, then I'd consider putting away the pitch forks lol.

Playing devil’s advocate:  How exactly are these pilots “betraying” their country?

    Essentially what Biff said.

I bet a 35K/yr bonus would retain those pesky pilots and keep them loyal.....

Anyone think any US pilots have been poached for the same thing? Never heard of it but I have to believe if they're targeting Brits they would be targeting Americans as well.....

LOL the article says they're only paying these dudes ~$270k?!  NFW that's all they're paying these dudes.  That's chump change for betraying your country, risking your life and living in that shithole.

Whew!  Glad the good General took care of the problem at the core.  If only our leadership cared as much about admin issues (comm/finance/etc...time sucks that dimish daily ops), as they care about 36-2903.

Sure, you could probably seek a waiver, but that's all time and effort you don't want to spend when you're scrambling to rapidly deploy assets across the globe.

If they need us there bad enough, I'm sure "special waiver," will miraculously appear at record pace...

I will be very interested to see if this policy is sustainable the next few years. Almost none of the kids starting fall 2023 freshman year of college with my son are vaccinated.  As colleges are rapidly dropping their mandates, the incentive for a fit 18-year-old in peak shape to take something which provides zero protection and potentially damages his heart forever just isn’t there.  This policy reduces the pool of available candidates, which ultimately is detrimental to national security

My nephew graduated high school last year and most of the kids in his class have not been vaxed, nor is there any reason for them to be vaxed (especially since the pandemic is "over").  They're certainly not the only ones, so it will be interested to see how if the "policy of the week" stands the test of the time.  Either way, the DOD is wasting a lot of man-hours and money on this bullshit, not to mention forcing out what are otherwise fine additions to the service (ref: rescue swimmer above).

Have yet to see what the larger goal was with the Covid vax for the military.  Sure hasn't seemed to do anything for military readiness.

This!   The DOD needs to just move on from this shit.  99.9% of my base being vaxed didn't stop the multiple outbreaks we had post vaxings.  In the case of the above posted article, it may have directly contributed to the death of an otherwise healthy pilot.  It sounds like that unit has a quite a few pilots who are not vaxed.  Doesn't seem to be impacting them all that much...

Lol, dudes are well know and universally hated.  Didn't read the article but they're said to have made over 300k, plus an expensive ass boat over the last few years.  They've been accused of cheating multiple times over the years, glad they finally got caught.  If I were those dudes, I'd watch my back.  Fisherman take that shit seriously around here lol.  I've heard stories of drain plugs pulled, oil being drained (boat AND truck) and an extreme one...breaking lug nuts just loose enough to not know right away.  Yikes!  The announcer was wise to ask people to not beat them up as they left.

I'd argue you can tell he's a dumbass just by his decision to transition to the B-2 from the A-10.  Are you kidding me, from having a blast flying low and shooting shit to flying at altitude with 30 degree bank angles.

Just like I'm immediately suspect of a guy whose been in 2+ Guard squadron, I'd be suspect of someone with that many airframes in their career.  Maybe he was transitioned...
