Does anyone have any experience with MIL2ATP out of North Carolina?

There's a difference between partying for said promotion to captain (which most definitely should and does happen) and self congratulations on Facebook thanking everyone for how hard earned your promotion to Capt was just to make yourself seem like you've earned something.
I'm assuming that's where the point was supposed to go.

We didn't use NBOKC for our VA loan, but got two great deals from Trident Home Loans in Gulf Breeze, FL. We're at Hurlburt and they were able to get us a 3.75% 30yr last year with a $7.2K lender credit which paid our VA funding fee so we didn't end up having to tack that onto our loan. We just finished a refi of the same property with them and got it down to a 3.25% 15yr with a $5K lender credit. There were no fees charged to us or added to our loan balance so they basically did a free refi. I got to meet the owner of the company (flies for Delta and was a Navy prowler pilot) during the process and he basically takes less of a profit to hook up military and pilots. Not saying they don't do business with other people, but he focuses on what he knows and cares about. A few other people from my squadron have gone with them too and got the same type of deal I did. Actually, it was an AF buddy who referred me to them because he got such a deal.
If you're paying money to refi or aren't getting a massive lender credit when you buy then you're doing it wrong. My broker was Stacy Haynes or you can PM me if you want to talk to the owner directly (I don't want to put his cell # on the web). He's a great dude to talk both mortgages and airlines stuff with.
Another shout out for Trident Home Loans and Stacy!
Stacy is extremely helpful when it comes to getting a loan and as mentioned before everyone is very military friendly. She was able to get me a 30 year loan at 3.65% with about $7K in lender credits, which helped take care of the VA funding fee. She was also able to get us back about $1500 at closing as well.
Super easy to work with, felt very personal and was able to call and ask any questions I had without seeming like a bother.
PM me if you'd like any other specific details.

They are all very excited about being called "airmen" now

What happened there?

Is anyone at MacDill on the tanker side of things? Was offered MacDill instead of March due to an AFPC screw up ... Any QOL info would be awesome.

Question for the masses:
I'm an AD KC-135 guy and just got picked up for March as my 2nd assignment. Just wanted to get a feel for what to expect and see if anyone is out there or has experience there. I realize that its an associate unit and that can somewhat hurt career progress. If anyone has general info on the base, community, QOL, and places to live, it would be much appreciated. I'm a married guy w/no kids...wife will be looking to go to Loma Linda for school while we are there.
Thanks!

I've heard from several others, myself included, that you don't need to actually send Barclay your orders. They tell you to in the phone call, but then immediately apply the change regardless of seeing them.

I'll start getting nervous when the tankers move outta AMC

I looked into Arizona Flight Training Center in Glendale, AZ last year and heard/read good things. They advertise a military-specific training program. I ended up going to a place in Kansas though, so can't speak to the quality of training at AZFTC. I'd imagine if you know anyone at Luke they can get you first-hand gouge.
Where did you go in Kansas? I'm near ICT and looking to get it done sooner rather than later.

- Bottom line, the last KC-135s will be about 80 years old when they head to the boneyard; this is something akin to flying the original, 1935-era Boeing Model 299 (the first B-17 prototype) today--not the highly-advanced D-Day era B-17s that flew 9 years later
Thats a perspective I didn't consider. Scary

It's not even really that funny. I can understand the frustration though

Has anyone heard of considerations to sim time credit for military? I would think that the training is comparable if not better. The only issue I can see is the required ATP certified instructor.
I was/an unable to get my written done by the end of the month so I'm trying to see how painful the process is going to be if/when I need the written.

Saw this little gem today. Good thing I'm out the door tomorrow...

Unless the groom/bride was in a mess dress, I wouldn't wear it. It's attention whoring and who wants to wear that thing anyways?
I don't see why you think its attention whoring... As previously mentioned, there should be a little pride associated with the uniform and being able to wear it once every couple years to a wedding shouldn't be viewed as a negative, especially if the bride and groom asked you to wear it.

There's quite the difference between volunteers for USO shows and airmen who's JOB it is to do this, at the behest of their actual AFSC.
