BUMP. got the AMS e-mail today, I don't qualify but thought I'd ask again. Yes, I used the search function to no avail.

Oh my gosh, I can't tell you how much I agree with this. It's so frustrating, everytime I try to make an appointment on their automated systems (so they don't have to get off their ass and answer the phone) I get bullshit like "all the appointments for a new ID card are taken up for the next two weeks". Or when I hear that finance is open from 9 to 3 MWF and 10 to 2 Tues/Thurs, WTF, Maybe they should be paid part time too. If flying made up even 10 percent of my job, I'd be thrilled.

PHIK is a pretty great assignment right now. Seems to me like we're overmanned (too many copilots, too many IP's, and too many loads) Most of the co-pilots are fighting to go support the 2 EAS system. If the 2 EAS system stays around, as soon as PAED is full up it wouldn't surprise me to see a PHIK/PAED co-op taking a full 4 month rotation. I'm, on average, gone about 1 week a month. not including my deployment to "the box".

I've got a g-shock and love it. It's tough. Having zulu time available makes it much easier when crossing the international date line. I still can't keep straight what freakin day it is without it.

Hey, I agree with you all about all the investing etc. I just PCS'd to Hickam and am absolutely blown away by the real estate prices. Some people say I'm crazy but I'm not paying 700,000+++++ for a roach infested crap hole of a house, and I'm not exaggerating. I was all for buying a house, even half a million at 24 years old was doable, but when I saw what I'd be getting I just couldn't do it.

My wife and I are moving to Hickam on Friday, Just wondering if anyone has any last minute tips on housing/jobs. Thanks

I hope we catch him and put him in prison, but not solitary. We should put the biggest, nastiest pigs in his cell with him, hopefully they'll do him a favor and crap on him every hour or so just to make him smell better. Food, you betcha, pigs feet every day. I'm sure he loves pig feet.

Tweet your right, you apply around half way through. The decision, from what I remember, is not made on flight experience at all. It's made on who performs the best at OTS. The guy from my upper class was an amazing leader and got his ENJJPT slot. The guy from my class was a prior marine who also worked his ass off and did well at OTS. So point is, don't worry about flight experience, just do as well as you possibly can at OTS, this means playing all the stupid games. By the way, when I was at OTS, only one person from each class was selected for ENJJPT
