This is a bit old, but the pilot's name was released - Name released. No more details, though. Anybody else hear anything?
Totally different. The kid who started this thread went to a public forum to ask if his card would help him get a ride. The USAFA cadet called directly to the scheduling shop (repeatedly). The first "No" he was given by the schedulers when he called on the phone should have been enough. The e-mail was plenty 'professional', but notice the message of the first guy who forwarded his request; "Here’s the guy who keeps calling up and bugging the scheduling shop about getting a flight." Agreed the response was a bit overboard, but apparently the cadet wasn't taking the hint.
I know the 'Major' in question. The cadet's rebuttal (backpedaling) is not true.
I say everybody send Mr Gillis a message with your piece of mind - I'm going to do it right now. Not a insulting blast, mind you, but an well articulated letter that described the benefits of this site, the fact that it does not release any sort of 'Official' AF info other than which is available on other sites, and is a tremendous asset to those in the AF and a those desiring to be in the AF (read: recruiting tool). And then maybe I'll tell him he's a douchebag in the P.S.

If you're talking about leave between graduation and you're follow-on training, it shouldn't be a problem. Once you have your training dates, talk to your flight commander. If, for example, you graduate at the beginning of October and don't start survival for two weeks, you should be fine to take leave for those two weeks. All you'll be doing for that time is working orders and getting your stuff ready for PCS.
I just got a speeding ticket on base - not paying attention and doing 32 in a 25 zone. I told my flight commander yesterday and he didn't seem too pissed, but is this something that could affect my flight commander ranking when it comes time for assignments?
