  1. Amazing alright, amazing he got on the ground in one piece, didn't get captured, or get his ass shot off by his own rescuers.

EDIT: What Discus said - go talk to a SERE instructor.

Well he did survive didn't he? So regardless if he went about it incorrectly or not, he still did better than some.

  2. I don't know--that one blonde chick in the AFN commercial who says something like 'I'll give you the next night off so you can have some privacy' in reference to the two being roommates--she's pretty hot. If I were her roomate she'd be home with me every night.

    Worthless without pics!

  3. OK, so bottom line. What would you guys say is the easiest masters to get? I just need one to check the box. I could really care less if it's from Yale, ERAU, or the Derek Zoolander Center For Children Who Can't Read Good And Wanna Learn To Do Other Stuff Good Too.

  4. On now, for those interested...

EDIT: I wasn't expecting much from an HBO flick, but damn... I had a (big) lump in my throat nearly the whole time.

    Very Moving, and Excellent.

I agree... definitely some quiver lip going on. :salut:

  5. Like it was posted here, filing through base ops will basically let security forces know that you are going out to the airplane. Filing through duats doesn't do anything for you until you call clearance delivery. Some sky cop saw them walk out to the airplane and fire it up. Immediately he got a power erection and decided to arrest said individuals on suspicion. Kind of like another buddy of mine who was driving 8 mph in a 15 mph zone on base and got pulled over for driving suspiciously slow... but that's a whole other story.

Long story short: Mil Field = Base Ops ............. Civ Field = Duats or 1-800-WXBRIEF

  6. Do not file through DUATS while departing from a mil field. We had a fellow FAIP figure that out the hard way a while ago. A little time in jail and a phone call to the DO was required.

  7. here's what it boils down to:

blue = approaches in the FLIPs.

green = approaches are approved, but not in approach plates. You have to go to the NACO website to download them

Actually, green might or might not be in the book. Blue just means they have at least one approach in the DOD high book.

  8. Thread Revival: I just got a new iPhone so I'm allowed to be all hip and condescending now. Do you any of you guys have iPhones and if so, what Apps do you have? There have to be some great aviation ones out there.

I've got FltPlan that gives a lot of good information on every airport in the US but most importantly, where the FBOs are located on the field and their phone numbers. Also, I have aeroweather that gives METARs and TAFs.
