  1. Just saw the advisory from higher: 0518 board results delayed "30 days" due to hang-ups at the "national level".
Duck, somehow this is your fault.

Confirmed on MyPers. They are probably trying to find out how wide they can open up the BTZ floodgate given the people in that year group who have bailed.

  2. Not surprised. This is now taking money directly out of people's pockets. First increments for this board's selectees already pushed from 1 Oct to 1 Nov. Won't be surprised if this delay pushes it further back to 1 Dec.

Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network mobile app

How so? October is finishing up this year’s line numbers. Even with a month delay they can start pinning on the next batch on time in November.

  3. Rejoice! The Pentagon Is Finally Ridding Itself Of The Horrendous Defense Travel System
    https://taskandpurpose.com/pentagon-ditching-defense-travel-system/
Can we get a damn app for this and LeaveWeb please?

Pardon me if I refrain from rejoicing until we see how bad of an abortion the replacement system will be.

Oh wait, it’ll probably take 10 years until it actually comes online. I’ll be well into my post AF career at Home Depot by that point while they take another 5 years to work out the lowest-bidder, “wasn’t in the contract requirements” bugs.

  4. Someone was bitching about the AF service dress uniform at work last week. I told them to STFU or you will anger the uniform gods into action. Too late! Why doesn't Big Blue just contract the PT uniform to Nike or Under Armour? They already have moisture wicking material. I wear Nike Dri Fit material to the gym everyday and it's amazing.

Who actually has to wear service dress so frequently that they bitch about it? So many better things to rightfully complain about as your service dress sits in the back of your closet 364 days out of the year.

  5. Be sure to check T-Mobile coverage not just in places you live and work, but also transit frequently.  We looked at a stretch of interstate that we use to travel back and forth to see family and it looked like trying to get coverage in northern Siberia.  Even the customer service rep at the store shrugged her shoulders.  We are keeping our eye on the Sprint merger and how that will change their coverage.  The price plan is as-advertised, though.  No gimmicks.

  6. why oh why is the patch setup on the OCP backward from the bag?  I.e wing patch on the right shoulder and squadron on the left. Weird...

I was just hoping it was a typo and would eventually be revised but in the mean time everyone would just wear the patches on the usual sides

  7. He is a careerist that only cares about the force itself, if at all. Not individuals or promises made to individuals. Nor does he care about quality of life. When asked point blank about these issues when not prepared for them his answer is you all signed up and are volunteers. Whatever the Air Force chooses to do with you, you should accept even if it flys in the face of what was previously promised to you. It is mission first for him at every cost. And his mission is clearly stated that it’s not the people behind accomplishing the mission. He is a tard. He is part of what’s wrong with Air Force leadership and the air force’s quest to burn itself down. And he is at the helm.

    And you base this on.......?
  8. I think if you’re flying you should talk on the radio.  I’m curious why people teach/practice the other way.

Standard in the Herk community. Although after doing this for a while, it does get annoying to have to (for example) tell the co “tell them we’re ready for lower” when you’re PF and want to descend.
  9. I personally think it will be one extreme or the other.  Either "I've been a reservist for XX years, so you guys have carte blanche to do what needs to be done to make stuff better and make the mission happen" or things basically get put on hold for however many years she is in the seat.

  10. So, Duck, does your contact happen to know what the deal is with the O-5 board timeline?  Are we looking at another 6 months?

Is there any actionable info causing the uproar about the O-5 board results? Other than the fact that the board date slipped 3 months, the requirements for PRFs were still the same, were they not? There shouldn’t be the same contentious discussion going on at higher levels on this promotion board because there wasn’t the “100% opportunity” language as was the case on the recent O-4 board.

I think someone else already chimed in, but based on historical data you should see results for the O-5 board in early to mid September based on that being roughly three months from the board.
  11. (Add) 6.4.3.2. Tan or Coyote Brown Boots. Airmen may wear either Tan or Coyote Brown
boots with the OCP. On 1 June 2020, Coyote Brown boots will be worn with the OCP and the
    flight duty uniform.

?? Does this I Clyde the flight suit?

Exactly my question. “Will be worn” on 1 June 2020. What about before?

And yes the “flight duty uniform” (FDU) as currently defined in the green one piece flightsuit.
