  1. Very much so, and the simple fact that you even asked may be an admittance under DADT! :nob:

Personally, I'd rather be the 90-year-old science fiction writer that could comply with her request! :bohica:

No shit. Tac Airlifter = Fagatron.

  2. Trust me, I would have much preferred to pay my respects at the memorial, but the guys at Creech went out of their way to have us today so I doubt that would have went over well. Apparently the PDT group before ours got viper rides, in front of all the other people in line here at Nellis.

    That's ######ed up right there.

  3. If it's not a Hog and it's not a Strike Eagle, sounds like it would be a Viper (assuming it's AF).

I thought he said I "bone" for shows of force only. B-1?

Smokin dude, the whole post was facetious. The jets are built to do different things, and if a thread is started with "all E model dudes are gay" or whatever the # 2 and 3 posts were trying to accomplish, do you think you're going to get a serious discussion?

  4. At least we don't have a thread devoted to us crapping ourselves...

Now lazlo, what you've done is fight a fighting falcon driver's fight. You've given him time to realize he's doing DACT and download his pods and externals. The trick to Strike Eagle vs. falcon is call them about a day before and force them to fight with a standardish combat loadout. Just as we've seen young brabus do, they're very hesitant to poke their nose into a fight without a more experienced lead. Just ask them about relative targeting JDAM's, PW3, or yo-yo ops as Crate mentioned.

Or, if you're going to stoop to the level of talking about dropping a deuce in the jet, ask them who they know has done it on a combat sortie and still killed a few hadji that night. Not the highlight of their career, but roll calls have called out a few in the E model.

But yes, they can pull 9 G's. And then they'll walk over as they're doing CAS spinups and ask you no shit how to employ.

  5. This is what my sq. just sent out, Office for Mac worked for me.

To get Microsoft Office 2007 for Windows or MAC for $9.95:

    - Go to https://hup.microsoft.com

    - Choose your preferred country and language.

    - Enter your official email address and Program Code (756B6F6336).

To download home use Anti-Virus and CAC Card:

    - Log into AF Portal

    - On the left side panel click on "NEW - Home Use Software" under AF

    Information

    - In that screen you can download CAC Middleware (CAC Card Driver for home

use), Anti-virus and Home Use/Employee Purchase

  6. Doesn't make it or anything else 'right'...just means a lot of things here are not unique nor original...denying service/entry because you are not in compliance with the rules happens at a lot of places for varying reasons.

    REMF

With all due respect, I think you're comparing apples to oranges. When is it ok for an NCO to physically rip a tray out of a commissioned officer's hands? If you're familiar with the case, what was done to "correct the behavior" of the NCO?

  7. ...First one that sticks out in my mind is since someone decided to nod at a 2 star instead of giving a proper greeting ...

Not a FT story but similar, and speaking of 341's, it's valid. While at OTS, one of the trainees leading a formation didn't salute a 3 star, and the MTI's reaction was priceless. "What the ###### were you thinking trainee, were you blinded by the stars on his hat?"

    Back to the thread.

  8. Your user name is spot on and your speaking privileges are on time out.

Damn it Toro, why not let the guy stand up and tell us about himself? He's obviously a warrior in the most modern Air Force sense of the word.

You could learn something from him, he's in the shit RIGHT NOW.

  9. From my experience, when we got here, they looked at our physicals and wrote us upchits if it was less than a year old. Pilots had to go do an eye exam, WSO's didn't.

Expect to get a physical sometime soon while you're here. Most people I know had to get a navy physical within a year of them being here.

That sounds about right. I left P'cola in 07, but I'm sure things haven't changed much if at all.

The AF has pretty much signed off on you, you just need to get into the navy's system. As Monte said, expect to have a physical every year during your birth month with them just like the AF.

I don't remember anyone having any trouble during the navy physicals if that helps any. Go to McGuire's, and enjoy the area.

  10. Pretty sure this has been talked about before, so you might get shacked for not reading around...

Having said that, we were briefed that if you wore contacts in the field, you'd be recycled/sent home. Trust me, you don't want to dick with contacts at SERE. I was glad I didn't wear mine and they even took the glasses off of my face before the "counseling" sessions. Contacts for academics were ok.

Just have a glasses strap before you get there. All they had were the old-school style, and the croakies were much more comfortable.

Have fun up there. Rent a car and get to Spokane when you're able, it's a good time.

  11. In Lousiana, it's perfectly legal to give a pistol as a gift as long as the individual can own one. Father in Law's got an FFL and we're originally from Monroe. There are some pretty good little gun shops in Shreveport if the MX doesn't work out

  12. Preds on the other hand are scary, but at the end of the day, you can still rest your head down at night knowing that you gave it your all and now are in the fight and doing more damage in one tour than a fighter guy does in his entire flying career.

I agreed until that. Keep your comments to things you know about, I'm not too sure how much damage you think the Hogs and Strike Eagles are doing.

Do you have a vault at Whiting?

  13. For instance, to show how a JSF would supposedly have to respond to not being stealth, they have a missile lock up and not fire, thus making the JSF have a larger radar signature.

    WTFO?

How does this work? If they "locked up" it would imply targeting based upon a certain RCS. But if you've got some majic way to explain not firing a missle expanding RCS I'd be willing to hear it.

  14. I just do not get this self-entitled, respect no-one, everybody owes me something generation -- or the pansy-assed-limp-wrists that indirectly advocate or condone their conduct with phrases like, "You can't just go around pushing people."

    Oh, you mean like:

I spoke my mind and I stand by everything I wrote in those sentences. You can read into it whatever you want if it makes you feel better. One cannot go around shoving, hitting or otherwise assaulting others, unless somebody is in danger of bodily harm from the victim. If that was the case here, I doubt the police would have charged him as quickly as they did, with the crime they stipulated.

because yeah, the dude needed to at the very least be shoved, hit, or assaulted. If you feel differently, I must in all respect ask if you have said wife or daughter.

  15. I'm a WSO, so I didn't do IFS. However, I did OTS, and hindsight being 20/20, I would put her in with the folks while you're at IFS and wait to start the married life thing/get everything worked out at the UPT base.

We used the USAA Cadet loan or whatever, and got my wife a place to live for the 3 months and change I was at OTS. Huge waste of effort, stress, and money. In the long run, 6 weeks with the parents aren't going to hurt and the support/time spent right before you guys PCS will be nice. If you have movers come get your crap, she'll have someone there to help (the more the better, esp on the 1st one). Her time spent working whatever job could probably be better spent making connections for a more stable one wherever you're going to UPT.

Student loan repayment doesn't begin until at least 6 months after graduation, so you'll have a few months to get things sorted out before you have to worry about that. Also, check into student loan consolidation...you can choose plans that offer you lower payments for the first few years while you are more fiscally challenged.

    2. Consolidation/deferment options can be your friend, but be smart.

Bottom line man, don't stress out about it. Sounds easy for me to say, but running your ass off trying to get paid, her find a job, a house, etc. all a MONTH OR 2 away from a PCS is tough, and some would say dumb. Keep it as simple as you can right now; your professional life is about to get compicated and home is the last place you want strife.
