  1. Like I said before, YMMV depending on how your MAJCOM supts are written and the evaluator interprets them.

Maybe it's the last few weeks of AFN kicking in, but this would be a hell of a spot for some "don't be that guy" ad featuring some limp dick SEFE quoting that section after a downgrade. Not to mention, you realize you just quoted an AETC sup?

    Don't be a dick.

    This.

  2. FWIW, my first pair of boots was broken in by a similar method. A good friend that I went to college with told me the Rangers in his batt broke their boots in by soaking them in water and wearing them until they dried.

Different leather, tanning method and cost, but if you're starting with a piece of crap jacket and thinking about going to Mr Lim for one it might be worth a shot. Another recommendation for him by the way, I don't have one but some bros do and his work is top notch.

But Hacker, dude, were all those jackets yours? Damn son.

  3. Fudge

I love your response in saying why can't they trust us since we deal with millions of dollars in equipment and lives. Just look at all the fat Airmen under the old system they monitored. There will be a lot of FAT Airman celebrating this week, RHIP.

Are you this much of a tool in person, or just the internet?

  4. The Air Force Fitness test as it is today is a force shaping tool designed to have an excuse to kick people out for not meeting standards. It isn't a tough test, but people do fail it so it gives fodder to the boards. Once the Air Force has its numbers in order, the fitness test will change again...and then they'll just worry about just looking good again. I'd be curious to see how many of the RIFd personnel had negative fitness score quality indicators (as the Air Force likes to call it) on their records...

    Boom goes the dynamite.

  5. Not sure about the heavy side, but at least my functional at the fighter porch (probably others as well) looks at your quals, makes sure they match up with your preferences in the comments, and matches you from there. Not too much time is given to the form tier data.

Like others have said, you've got the room in the comments section to spell it out very clearly. Good luck.

  6. Not what you're looking for, but the Strike Eagle list has been available for ~2 weeks. You are talking about the one that says "X,Y, and Z are available this VML", right?

Shouldn't the boss email you/ forward a copy when you're notified you're on the VML?

  7. Not a heavy dude, so the nonchalant talk of Q3's is extremely odd, but this:

    my world (AETC)

    May explain something.

    Edited to add,

Speak for your own, which last time I checked had problems with airshow demos
is a ######ing foul dude. Make your point without pissing on someone's grave.

  8. BL: Is it dangerous to fly with the clogged up (due to liquid) ears? Will it clear up on its own? I'd prefer not go to DNIF considering there's no discomfort on ascent or descent...

Yes, it is dangerous. Who knows, you willing to bet a sinus on if it does or not?

Discomfort is relative, and you know best your own circumstance. But 2 days off the schedule vs 6-9 times as long for a sinus to heal up.... You do the math. Who knows, you go to the doc, do a weekend DNIF and take allegra/afrin, whatever when you feel stopped up.

  9. I'd say depends on how you look at it. We've all been "CSOs" for a couple years now, but I'm not familiar with how long the dual-seat qual in the Buff has gone on. In terms of "how is the new product from P-cola doing?" question, flyingbull is right that they don't exist yet b/c they haven't graduated. In terms of "how are young dual-seaters in the buff doing?" question, I have no idea and differ to someone in that community.

My platform has both navs/ewos sitting a common CSO seat and honestly I don't think there's really a difference between who does better or whatever. I don't even know if people were nav or ewo (either from nav school or another platform) and the pilots I've talked to don't seem to know or care either. BL: "CSO" as a concept works for us at least.

Do you guys actually call each other CSO's? Say it aint so.

  10. Technique only: call your new unit, ask for a flight commander, and make sure you at least get a verbal before you spend the dough.

Yeah, don't be that guy. Something for all the new guys reading this is to get all leave cleared through the leave manager (usually an ADO type) and only then buy tickets. If you're PCS'ing in, call the ops desk. Or in this case, STUCON. Bottom line is they're going to give you leave; it's right before Christmas, and it's the Navy. They don't give a shit.

  11. I would have said, "Yes, show me the AFI!" But I wouldn't expect that from my spouse, or yours.

Exactly. Best thing to do (not really) is get your wife a job on base. 6-9 months and they'll be the "flyer's wife" that openly questions processes. Because we all know process and not the mission run the AF. LRS, I'm looking at you. With disgust.
