So who are the other commanders that were fired? All the reports are "nine commanders fired" but even including the #2s mentioned, Wg/CC, Gp/CC, Gp/CD, and 4 Sq/CCs is only 7. And based on the above article it seems like the Wg/CC may not be being counted in that 9 number. So who else got the axe? Are they lumping some DOs into that jumper as well?

Our leaders should be approachable people, if an O-6 expects different treatment based on his/her exalted rank, something is wrong. I would argue that treatment should make any normal person uncomfortable, if it doesn't that person has failed as a leader.
I'm about 2/3 of the way through Sinek's "Leaders Eat Last" and your comment reminded me of a story he tells in the book about "The Ceramic Cup". A great commentary on getting caught up in the "trappings" of high office. Was able to find the excerpt online:

We are not in combat. Not to take anything away from the good work we have done over the last 10+ years, but it ain't combat.
When there's a real question of whether you or your wingman will come back from a sortie - that's combat. The reason for all the queep and lack of focus is because there are very few individuals left in the Air Force who have experienced that.
Pretty sure the guys who have dodged bullets and missiles in the current conflicts, and ESPECIALLY those that returned without their wingmen, would tell you to go fuck yourself.

None of this is news. It's been the plan for a while. Most of the aircraft mentioned are being replaced by new aircraft, not "cut".

Since Olds proved that mustache compliance has nothing to do with mission accomplishment, I feel confident in throwing that part of your beloved 2903 into the "don't give a shit" category, as authorized by Gen Welsh.
Because mustache regs were EXACTLY what Gen Welsh was talking about...

It's Americanized enough so that language is not an issue
Still close to the US and easy access to GDL

One more shout out for Dave Devine. Streamline refi on a house in FL - Dave beat every other offer I had received with nothing out of pocket and very minimal closing costs rolled into the loan. Dropped my payment by $300 a month. Very fast turnaround from first phone call to closing (less than a month), extremely courteous and excellent communication throughout.
My only complaint is I wish I had called him six months ago when rates were even lower!

The best "wedding ring" story I've heard was an article in a safety magazine about a F-18 guy who had got his ring caught in the canopy and subsequently lost his finger.
