Yes if you were born and raised in some urban sprawl but if you come from a small town and like that lifestyle its not bad and can withstand hot than hell temperatures. Hey at least its not Lawton, OKC is just up the road.
Lawton is nicer than Altus, and also has everything Altus should have.

The glorious stratotanker doesn't have a bad mix either: Okinawa, England, Tampa, Spokane and Wichita*.
*Hey, at least it's not Enid
Altus isn't a prime location either.

They're at other units as well, just in very small numbers. We had 2 and I flew with one about once a year.
We had two at Fairchild when I was there, they got out. I've flown with a few from Mildenhall and met one Nav from Kadena.

I find it really hard to believe that someone with the creds you listed would only get a P solely because of no AAD since it is a 75% allocation rate. However, if all his bros had a degree and he didn't...he self-eliminated. I say this as someone who met an O-4 board without an AAD and has never been an exec.
That's what happened, he drew the short straw. We had a guy get passed over last year for O-4, finished his degree, submit his Palace Chase paper work to a Reserve unit and get hired, only to make O-4 this year a few weeks after he separated. He got a P this year, but ha his AAD complete prior to the PRF review.
Was the guy a douche? Not trying to flame, just curious.
Nope, great guy and very sharp. One of the top IP's in the Sq and the Flt/CC for the flight that teaches our instructor course (FTU).

Enlisting straight into Boom or Load ala a ANG/AFRC unit is hard to do unless you know people in the unit. They usually allow people already in the unit to cross train into those jobs.
Here's some info on the Post 9/11 G.I Bill.

Trust but verify. On the other hand if that Load Planner is experienced and a SNCO he should be mentoring and teaching said young loadmaster, everyone starts at square one. An us vs them mindset is not helpful in any way.
When you were a young AC were you "mentored" by a Pro Super over a write up in the forms that you were suspect about? Did you just take the aircraft anyway?
-
Got a Sierra hotel ATOC here that have everything ready to go before any grey tail shows up, of course everything goes to crap when a SRA load questions everything the MSgt loadplanner hands him. It is getting preferable just to tender stuff out and let Ivan the crazy IL-76 pilot have it with no questions asked and a whole lot cheaper.
Because when that load plan is wrong, and that SrA Load or Boom take the cargo and aircraft in that condition, it's their Q-3 and asschewing, not the ATOC team. So deal with the questions, because it's their right to question the load plan.

Altus is like an eastern Clovis. Shitty community, no off-base restaurants or shopping centers worth a damn, high price housing, small corrupt few that run the city into the ground.

P or DP? There has to be something else...
P based on the fact he had no AAD

.....dude....solely? ....So they opened his PRF and there was just one piece of paper in there that read: "No AAD," and boom, that was it. Passed over.
Why do people say/think/believe dumb shit like this?
EP, SQ Exec, Flt/CC, Second assignment FTU instructor, SOS Coor/in-res complete, no UIF/LOR/LOC whatever
You tell me.

I have never, ever heard one single person say that they think a Master's degree is a good discriminator on a PRF or that in any way, shape, or form it betters the Air Force...in general it's a colossal waste of time and taxpayer money. How has this shit not gone away yet?
Apparently the last O-4 promotion board did. There's a guy in my sq who was passed over solely because he didn't have one.

I've had my positive face Vector for 2,500 hours of flying. Only thing I've had to replace is the battery and the o-ring to the battery case. It's rock solid.
I'm sure you could find a positive face Vector on eBay.

Thanks for the words of wisdom Hoss. I'm currently typing from the hell hole I like to call the desert on my third deployment (within a year). I guess I am kind of wanting a change of pace.
So you hate tankers?

Thanks. I'll browse through all 142 pages to see if it clearly answers my question.
Not like you'll be busy with flying or anything.

Has the Deid continued to improve?
After seeing who the new OG is, it will get worse.
