    I normally try and keep my mouth shut in these kinds of threads, but 1:35 made me curse out loud it pissed me off so much. It appears that those two bystanders were actually taking pictures of themselves standing on the horizontal stabilizer. Unless you are part of the investigating team, show some respect and stay the hell off of the wreckage.

    They probably don't have running water - do you really think they have any concept of how an aircraft mishap investigation works?

    Tell her to go to the auto hobby shop on base. Never had any issues with them, and they are good with local recommendations if they don't have parts. I brought over a US car and bought a BMW when I was there, had them work on both and was happy with both.

    No Flight Suits

    You need to be given enough flight suits to accomplish your job, nothing more. While the TA "authorizes" 2 per year or six months or something along those lines, it does not mean that when budgets are running tight that your commander is obligated to provide you with anything more than required to accomplish the mission. Notice the "as directed by their commanders or other competent authority" piece.

    Who the fuck needs more than two a year? What in the world are you doing in your flight suit? Based on the total number of flight suits I have received, I would estimate I've received one for every two years I've been in service.

    I believe everyone already gets a clothing allowance for ABUs. Enlisted get one each year and officers get it once at their first duty station.

    An allowance is recurring - something given once is a credit.

    LockheedFix, I've never flown the KC-135 but I have many friends that do. I'd imagine it is pretty damn difficult to land an aircraft with only 16" clearance on the inboard engines in crosswinds, something high wing aircraft don't really have to worry about. If I remember right, they only have 4 degrees of bank on landing before scraping an engine. Frankly, I'm surprised it doesn't happen more

    Don't forget that that $25k/yr becomes around $18k/yr after Obama takes his cut. Is $18k/yr worth that 365 to a shithole?

    Is $18K a year worth it - on top of your current salary - to get sent to some shit hole where you'll get tax free, hostile fire pay, hazard duty pay, and family separation pay? If you're going to bitch about compensation for going to a shithole, this argument doesn't really cut it - you actually make out like a bandit.

    And as far as Obama taking your money, I facepalm in your general direction. It was 25K cut down to 18K way back when I took the bonus (and was spending 365 in a shithole) when Bush took his cut.
