  1. On a different note, I got back form a TDY today and there was a letter from the TX Department of Public Safety with my CHL in it. Now time to go do the wally world run soon.

    Congrats!

    Cheers! M2

  2. Maybe because the majority of Americans agree with what Wilson said (even if they think the timing and location was inappropriate)

And irony? You want irony? Irony is that Wilson is being grilled about his comments (and people are even adding words to what he really said); but Kanye, Obama and Serena Williams ask that what they said should be ignored?

I don't agree with Wilson's outburst as I thought it was disrespectful due to where and when it happened, but not the remark itself as I know it is tru. I also don't think he was any more wrong than what everyone else did. And Obama is never any more "off the record" than Bush ever was, and the press had no problems covering anything the latter said.

By the way, TMZ.com has the audio of Obama's remarks, you just have to scroll down a bit.

  3. Maybe....but the VMAs were in New York (notice the "NYC" in the background?).

    -1 for SA. :)

LA, NY, what's the difference? They're both places I don't give a flying fuck about, because they are full of shitbags like Kanye!

  4. Ugh, the body of a porn star and the cranium of a Marine recruit!

No thanks, there are too many good looking women with hair out there. I mean, there are certain places where it's OK for a woman to shave; but not their noggin! Sinéad O'Connor proved that to us back in the 80s!

Plus, if Kanye's touched it, you know it's got to have the skank!

  5. It's not like anyone needs another reason NOT to buy the shit that assclown Kanye tries to pass off as music; but here is one nontheless.

It just goes to show you how classless and untalented some of today's "artists" are...which is why I've been listening to the Temptation's Gold CD for the past couple of weeks.

    Cheers! M2

  6. Oddly enough, just down the hall from where I am now!

I was exec'ing for a two-star who had just gone to Maxwell for a course. The new one-star vice, who I knew from USAFE, had just arrived (it was his first day) and was using my boss' office. I was in my office catching up on the usual bumpf when he walked out and announced that a plane had just flown into the WTC. We were watching the news when the second plane hit. Everything after that is a blur...and it is hard to believe that eight years have gone by since.

  7. My two most recent pistol acquisitions were both Taurus 9mm--the PT111 and PT709. Very similar in size except the latter is a single-stack therefore slimmer, but the PT111 is easier to shoot more accurately. However, despite rumors to the contrary, both have been flawless (I just put 100 rounds through the PT709 without a single FTF/FTE) and Taurus now offers a lifetime guarantee on all their guns no matter if you are the original owner or not. I have been very happy with both of these pistols and wouldn't hesitate to recommend either. For the price they are very capable weapons...

  8. I'm on a roll...after picking up a beautiful Yugo SKS last Sunday, one week later I snag a 1952 Russian SKS with all matching numbers, an original cleaning kit and sling!

Here it is with my 1939 Nagant M1895 also from the Tula factory, and the end of a RBR 64 mm M80 "ZOLJA" anti-tank rocket fired from a hand-held launcher that I picked up at a destroyed communications site near Mostar, Bosnia. Everything is on a Yugoslav Communist banner I picked up in Sarajevo...

Here's another pic with my new Yugo and ten rounds of 7.62x39 to represent what the original magazines hold (my third SKS, a Yugo, runs 20-round removable TAPCO mags that work perfectly with the rifle)...

I paid $375 for the Rooskie, which appeared to be a decent deal. Now I am after a Norinco paratrooper SKS...

  9. BFM

Picked up the PT709 this afternoon, and haven't fired it yet but I have compared it to the PT111 I got last week.

Honestly, other than the width they are exactly the same. If you want a very flat gun (less than an inch wide) and can live with 7+1 of 9mm, then get the PT709; but if a wider pistol is no problem and you prefer the 12+1 capacity of the PT111, then that's your choice. The two aren't dramatically different from each other (the PT709 does have trigger safety), and if the PT709 performs as well as the PT111 has so far, the biggest factor in choosing may just be the price!

    Cheers! M2
