Maybe not currently but since October when I posted that, 2 dudes who worked directly for me have gone to U28s. Or more accurately PC-12 with U-28 followon.Nope. MC12 or RPA maybe, but not these.

Bringing Bergdahl home isn't about Bowe Bergdahl.
Dempsey wrote "“The questions about this particular soldier’s conduct are separate from our effort to recover ANY U.S. service member in enemy captivity. This was likely the last, best opportunity to free him"
Dempsey is right.
Bergdahl may be a tard, but he's our tard to deal with.

Please tell me there is more to the story....or anything to the story....

Anybody read about an FY15 "expanded" palace chase program that they might run for next years round of cuts? I haven't seen anything in the PSDMs so far, but for those of us that are late in the game, just hoping we'll get our chance to get in on it with late hires, etc...
I asked the same question in the FY15 force management thread and as of now, there is not an expanded PC program for FY15. If you hear about one coming down the pipe, please let us know

Anyone know if there's an FY15 palace chase program similar to the FY14 one? I know regular palace chase is still an option

I'll put this here. I know these guys are dorks and tin-foil hat wearers generally, but interesting speculation nonetheless. Anybody know who uses "Sienna"?
It's difficult to determine, but a group of aviation enthusiasts say they caught a glimpse of a mystery aircraft earlier this month flying slowly across the Amarillo, Texas sky.
"We looked southwest and there they were," Steve Douglass, a journalist and member of the group, told FoxNews.com. "We thought they were B-2s, but when we studied our pictures, we ruled that out."
Douglass and his group, armed with cameras and binoculars, met on March 10 at the Rick Husband Amarillo International Airport. The airport is a perfect venue because it offers expansive views of Texas' big sky and a steady stream of military air traffic. On a good day, the group can see various military jets, and even the elusive F-22 Raptor.
It was a clear day, and the group was alerted to three aircrafts flying across the southwest skies. Douglass estimated that the planes got within 20 miles of the group and they started taking pictures with their 300mm zoom cameras. They looked at the photos, and saw that one appeared to be a silver-grey B-2 bomber.
The prospects of spotting a B-2 bomber was exciting, and Douglass said he got home to observe his photos when he noticed the aircraft in his picture had a smooth backside. The B-2 bomber has a distinct "W"-shaped back.
"The trailing edge is wrong," Douglass shouted, according to his blog.
Few items provoke public interest like an unidentified flying object. These stories are often attached to other theories about hidden testing bases or alien life forms. But these images have prompted some interest in the industry.
"The photos tell us more about what the mysterious stranger isn't than what it is," Bill Sweetman writes in Aviation Week, which first reported on the story. The report said that Douglass picked up some apparently related voice signals, which would indicate the aircraft had a pilot. Editors at Aviation Week reportedly say the images appear to be "something real."
"If I had to guess, I'd say we took a picture of a stealthy transport aircraft," Douglass said.
Douglass writes that he reached out to Whiteman Air Force Base in Missouri, which houses B-2s, to see if it flew any planes over Texas on that day and did not get a response.
This is the guy's blog.
Didn't sweetman write an article last week about the Saab gripen being the best stealth fighter ever?

Related transfer question-when you transfer to your kids, how does that work? I have one kid, so I could transfer it to him. But what if we have another kid later and the first one ends up at the Zoo? Can kid number two use it?

Been there. So have lots of other guys. Hope the timing works for you.
Cheers

You know what you do when you aren't interested, aren't involved and/or aren't asked to participate in the conversation going on? You STFU...and drink your whiskey.
Bendy
I'll drink one for you. You're due home from the sandy place soon aren't you?

Correlation does not equal causation. I wouldn't put it past afpc to do something like that, but they've repeatedly shown they aren't competent enough to figure it out.
Keep in mind, 365s do not get handed down by the CC. They come from AFPC based on number of short tours, short tour return date and a probably a couple other factors I can't remember right now.
But I'm skeptical that vsp application has anything to do with a 365 other than the dudes applying we're likely motivated knowing they were short on the list to get tagged.

WTF happened to this thread? Did we get through all the low hanging fruit about what's wrong with the AF so now we have to quote sections of US code to compare to AFIs? I mean good god, I know the medals stuff is broke, but who cares? Another air medal just means I have to update my service dress before the next time I wear it.
Although it is fun to laugh at the finance dude getting a bronze star.
Ain't nothing wrong with the AF that a real no shit shootin war won't fix quick fast and in a hurry.
Back to my whiskey.

Is the plan to still TFI with the 50th? Or will the 50th shutdown like the 53rd is in the process of doing? Or go J all on their own like the 61st?

"B-1" guy?
"He is a command pilot with more than 5,000 hours in the KC-135, C-12, C-21, C-141, C-17, B-1, and C-130J."

No offense to Popeye's employees, but how the ###### do they have anything to do with "Combat Airlift"? How does a civilian fast-food manager become the "Combat Airlifter of the Week"?
I get it...eating fried chicken is probably #15 on the list of priorities, thus beating out #18, flying the mission.
Edit to add: OK, yes she's technically an AAFES employee, but I'm staring right at the title of the award and can't seem to connect the two.
I think I went a little cross eyed trying to make the connection as well.
I guess when a c17/tanker/B1 guy is running the base, it is more important to recognize Popeyes management than the maintainers out fixing the planes or the crews who are deployed right now....it's Saturday and I'm just getting angry. F it. I'm out.

Try Again...
Sarcasm detector bent.

He's not a tanker guy.
I hear he's a B1 guy...

Didn't most of the c-17 shenanigans involve cross flow guys, some of who were rushed to AC/IP?
I know some of them did.
I'll throw gasoline on the pissing contest-how's that intra-amc cross flow working out? I don't know how the tanker guys view the herk/17 dudes but I know that the tanker dudes don't do so great in the herk. I mean, they do great enough that they don't die, get upgraded, get promoted and then get to be the wg/cc for a wing flying airplanes they know dick about. But they suck in the plane.
Generally speaking.

Sorry Sec. Kerry, this is an act of a person who doesn't take you seriously and knows you are the little yappy neighborhood dog. I have no interest in getting tangle in Ukraine, but it is truely sad how far our foreign policy impact has fallen.
Fact. Remember a few months ago with that little spat over Syria?
Putin walked away smelling like roses while we had egg on our face. I'm not sure that our politicians' egos have recovered from that yet.

I don't have any updates to that information, but I personally know several herk guys who have done/are on a 365 to teach the Iraqis or afghans to fly herks or c27s.
If the 365s are gone and those are now 179-I'll take it. And immediately continue bitching about that particular deployment requirement.
