    You know, "For the Children™."

Implying she has ever stopped. To her, more words on paper will do the trick to stop these things form happening. Although, that is assuming she actually believes that it is for improving public safety as opposed to a deeper rooted desire for public control. I digress.

LA Police Chief repeatedly refers to the shooters weapon as an 'assault rifle'. From the photo it looks like either a Mini14 or AR-15. Hard to tell from the angle. I'd be willing to bet my next paycheck though that it isn't an actual 'assault rifle'. Additionally, it has a pistol grip, detachable mag, and looks like a telescoping stock...which are all on the No-Fun list in California. How could this be??

Re: Slackline and Mark1: Fair enough remarks about Marcus and his story. I've read his book, but only once and it was back in 2008 or so. Consequently, the details of the book left my noodle a long time ago. Here is to hoping that the film isn't crap.

How so? Isn't the book written by Marcus Luttrell? I too am looking forward to this movie. My only gripe is with the fact that Mark Wahlberg is an anti-gun celeb and is perpetuating the hypocrisy of his type. Marcus Luttrell shouldn't be portrayed by a hollywood phony.

Wow, now that's a deal. I've been waiting for Bud's LE to have the S&W M&P 22 Pistol in stock (going to buy it for my wife). Haven't seen it anywhere else for nearly as good of a price. It *is* however available on the regular Bud's shop but I'm not willing to spend an extra ~30% over the LE price just to get it today. I wish I knew how they determined what stock is made available between the LE inventory and the regular shop.

Just a friendly heads up, Bud's Police Supply has some Smith & Wesson AR-15s in stock. Probably should act fast if you've been waiting to get an AR without being completely gouged on price. https://www.budspolic....php/cPath/4_10 edited to add clarification

Not going to search through 3500+ posts to see if this has been shared already....but this has got to be the coolest shotgun I've ever seen.

Thanks for the tip. That is a good deal indeed. And the way I see it, if I had enough expendable income to devote to my firearm interests, I'd probably qualify as a gun nut.

I've been a pistol and shotgun guy for awhile now, but have been waiting till various circumstances in my life align to go and get an AR. The Tuesday following the shooting, I went down to my local fun store and decided to just do some window shopping, and maybe make a purchase since I had some rainy day money saved up. Boy, the sight was incredible. Every counter had 3-4 people filling out paper work. The rifles wall had just a couple tacticool .22lr ARs left. All I could do was laugh. While in the store, I overheard a couple of conversations between sales reps and customers, where the customers as a previous poster also commented on, clearly had absolutely zero knowledge of what it was they were buying...they just wanted to get their hands on ANY AR/AK. I left and went to another store nearby. Same exact scenario. What I'm hoping for now is that when this whole mess dies down, there will be a large influx of like-new rifles on the used market being sold by people who no longer have any want for them at bargain prices. Same for ammo and mags. Keeping my fingers crossed. At any rate, if anyone comes across a good deal ever on an M4 style carbine, please post it!
  12. Come on, that isn't that unbelievable.

And not a single f*ck was given.
  14. Any chance that the hero's will be identified at some point? I suspect not considering the profile of their target and their secretive nature in general. Even though these guys don't do the job they do with hopes of earning medals or recognition, you can't help but want to acknowledge and praise the men who achieved this victory.
  15. Bad news for Osama is that it turns out that the 40 virgins waiting for him in paradise are dudes. oops!
  16. Been waiting for a good thread to make my first post in... Hell yes! Man, I wish I could shake the hands of the guys involved in this victory.
