  1. Be reasonable. There's no comparison. On one hand, you have an out of control government taking advantage of its citizens, ignoring calls for reform, and assuming more power and control while reducing..zzz ...Hey, the new Superman movie is out today! Gotta go.
  2. Joe, I'm not attacking you, so I'm having trouble understanding why you're being so incredibly defensive. Not every minor critique deserves an angry, rambling response. "Methinks the lady doth protest too much". I'm no psychologist, so I can't claim to be 100% certain that an inferiority complex would make someone feel the need to bring others down in your situation, but even so, I'm sure you'd be ready to vehemently refute it in another angry self-righteous tirade. There's nothing wrong with that, buI perhaps going downtown, singing some karaoke and finding yourself a nice Japanese girlfriend might be a beneficial option for someone facing the challenges you may or may not find yourself dealing with in regard to the anger you obviously feel when visiting he board. Just trying to help. It's not good to be upset all the time. Peace, brother.

    Gun Talk

Gun owners will shrink back and consolidate in a handful of gun friendly states while the states that they left see their leftist politicians move on unchallenged to Washington and enact the same policies on a national level. Texas and Oklahoma may be safe, but that's the very reason gun owners should be taking thier agenda elsewhere. Because Texas and Oklahoma and the diminishing number of gun friendly states can't fight the rest of the country in Congress. Retreating and consolidating is a losing strategy. Every gun owner in every state needs to stand thier ground and do what M2 suggests, petitition every representative to throw out these bills and enact gun friendly legislation. If Colorado gun owners had so passionately expressed their beliefs to thier reps (as the left did) prior to the votes on these bills, it may well have turned out differently. Unfortunately, the conservative method of approaching a problem with a cooler, reserved, rational response isn't as effective in garnering popular attention to an issue as liberal, loud, emotional knee-jerk reactions. Not buying houses, lift-tickets, and hunting licenses in Colorado isn't going to make a damn bit of difference on the gun issue. No one is going to correlate a negative economic impact with mistakes on a single issue in a state legislature. It'll be blamed on a whole host of broader economic political issues such as drugs, immigration, etc. What liberal politician wouldn't relish the fact that all he would have to do to get conservatives to leave his state would be voting for anti-gun legislation? Stay and fight. Saying you'll be forced to surrender your weapon or suffer a Waco is, as of now, a false dilemma. There's still time to keep it that way.
  4. Naturally, you're not going to agree with any critical analysis of yourself and deem it as "terrible". Perhaps it is, but you're not the person I would look to ask. You're constantly referring to the "People here", "the forum members", etc. It's as if you have an inability to discern individuals from the collective. That's called "making a generalization". I only point that out because you're often ranting against broad characterizations and such. Very odd. But this is what I liked about your post: "I'm just knocking people off thier high horses". I applaud your honesty. Now if only you could make the connection between moral superiority/narcissiscm and knocking people off high horses, you might be on to something. (Hint: hypocrisy)

I completely understand, brick and I was hoping that was a point someone would make. However, I'd like to present the argument that "taking your ball and going home" isn't "taking a stand on principles". it's retreating, it's shrinking away. Boycotting nearly always fails, because it is, almost by definition, an intentional failure to act as opposed to taking an action. If moving elsewhere were to be gun owner's primary tactic of fighting the 2nd amdendment battle, they'll eventually run out of states to move to.
  6. I typically don't post much here, but I thought it worth pointing out that all of your posts follow a distinct pattern.. It's always a snide rebuttle followed by sarcastic praise and ridicule of forum members in general. Always. It's interesting that you fail to see obvious hypocrisy in attempting elevate yourself above the "narcissists" on the forum using insults, in declaring your own intellectual superiority by way of mocking the forum in general, and using broad statements and exaggerations to rail against... ahem, "sweeping generalizations and hyperbole". You should really lighten up and come to realize you are exactly all the things you're pretending to denigrate. Happy trolling.

So you're giving up "hunting, fishing, skiing, climbing, paragliding, mountain biking, golfing, NFL games, camping, and free Coors" because of a 15 round magazine limit and background checks. I understand it sucks... but damn.
