  2. 4 x F-35's dropped on Friday for FAIP's. 1x Vance 1x Laughlin 2x Sheppard Everyone else is still waiting on their assignments. These 4 had to get them early as they all head to IFF August 31 and the T-6 dudes need to start their T-38 transition ASAP. Guy who got it from my squad got his assignment on Friday, Fini flight yesterday, T-38 intro today. From what we've been told the 4 FAIP's will head to IFF and compete against one another for 3 F-35 slots to Luke AFB. No idea what 4th place will get, though they've hinted at an F-16.

  3. The elements in the EU attempting to make this painful are cutting off their nose to spite their face. The attempt is transparent enough to see the whole point is the longer England deals with fallout painfully the more examples for pro-EU elements in countries like Denmark or France to use to hold by the trend of leaving. This isn't Latvia or some other tiny country amongst a list of countries that left, it's the 5th largest economy in the world and the 1st/2nd economy in Europe for 90% of the things you would want to export (tech/cars/etc). European politicians in Brussels seem to have forgotten they aren't the only Buffet table for the Brits to fill their plate at. If I was a business/industry CEO from an EU country I'd be making phone calls to the politicians of my country to remind them of that.... If I was same from outside the EU I'd be throwing everything I could at trying to pick up the market slack that things like punishment tariffs are going to cause. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  4. The change from IFS to IFT was driven by the new Commander of AETC. He felt that the syllabus and intent of IFS was too inflexible and that (essentially) people who were on the ragged edge of being successful were being washed out because the IFS policy did not allow the school to give them the extra ride or two (i.e., a little additional training) to enable them to succeed. It was a waste of the AF's time and money to wash them out. That policy change reduced the emphasis on "screening" and increased the emphasis on "training". That doesn't mean you can stay and fly forever, and it is still a screening program, but it does mean that now if the IP thinks you can pass with just a little more opportunity to train/practice, the school is allowed to give you a ride or two to prove it. If you do, you continue, if not you wash out. Other than that policy change, the school is still the same. The change in title from IFS to IFT was meant as a signal of the change.
