  2. I'm not sure if it's gotten worse or if increased connectivity through a very vocal blogger, chat boards, and social media has allowed more of these to be known to a wider circle. 10 years ago, I wouldn't have known about the firing of a C-130 SQ/CC as it's pretty far from my lane. Today, I know about that.

  3. Words via AFPC emails & my WIng King who was on the board... There were 135 officers offered continuation this year. It was allegedly based solely upon TAFMS-D for which there were specific "windows" determining what folks were eligible for (Seperation/Retirement/TERA/continuation). The only outlier as he remembered it was RPAs... with all being offered continuation (negative quality indicators & all). Apparently there are 7 officers separated w/o TERA. AFPC is working towards SECAF approval of TERA for them (don't know any more specifics). My local MPS chief discussed how the AF is making subtle changes to promotions, etc. resulting in even more disingenuous/in the dark/behind closed doors sorts of "force management" via promotions/timing. (His most significant example is shifting O-4 promotions left so 1 APZ (for O-5) happens prior to 15-yrs IOT start avoiding TERA hand-outs). Don't expect leadership, AFPC, etc. to explain any rationale for decisions... they'll keep quoting AFIs & Fact Sheets to avoid acknowledging their back-handed & coersive actions to pretend that all is well in personnel management land. I'm starting to walk away... 30 Nov keeps looking better & better-

  7. You beat me to it . . . in my neck of the woods, we like to say, "correlation does not equal causation." - I'm sure oil has nothing to do with Norway's per capita success, Swiss success has nothing to do with being surrounded by a whole bunch of other countries (plus the U.S.) who by default provide for much of their country's defense (which frees resources for more economically beneficial outcomes), . . . I could go on - He also conflates "clinging to religion" with subscribing to Christianity; last I knew, Pakistan, Chad, Afghanistan, etc. weren't majority Christian countries, yet he somehow ties their lack of success to the percentage of those in economically unsuccessful southern American states that have relatively large populations of people who self-identify as Christian . . . but he ignores other structural and historical problems with those states HLF does an impressive job of attacking straw men. I suggest not feeding this troll. TT
