  1. Pictured on the page is Ed Rasimus - flew a tour in F-105's in SEA, and liked it so much he went back again to do another in Phantoms. Ed is the cowriter with Christina Olds, of Robin Olds memoir, "Fighter Pilot". He's also got a pair of great books of his own.
  2. Damn good idea, if you ask me. Especially at Kandahar. Teach/show the kids we're not evil monsters...and you may get a chance at a real dialogue in the future.
  3. Here's my suggestion: "Under no circumstances shall someone not authorized to wear a flightsuit speak to someone wearing a flightsuit regarding the proper wear of a flightsuit or patches. Penalty shall be immediate reduction in grade to E-8 and/or 30 lashes with the non flightsuit wearer's reflective belt at the discretion of the flightsuit wearer."
  4. newest news from the sandbox (the Deid at least) - for the foreseeable future no tobacco products will be allowed onto the base. I'm not a smoker and haven't been to the BX in the last few days but guys in the squadron are saying no more cigs/chew available. Even Nicorette is running low. confirmed by my CC at a staff meeting. unsure of the duration/scope of the issue (i.e., can you have someone mail them to you, etc), but he says it appears to be a "semi-permanent, possibly permanent"policy and is being pushed by host-nation, not the AF can only imagine how bad morale will get if this is in fact a total ban
