Man, the whole saga is pretty disheartening from the standpoint of personal freedom.

What's the big draw with Southwest that's worth the extra money? Isn't everyone else hiring?

So you're saying that since you know some people abusing the system then 95% of people are also abusing the system? And that instead of improving the quality of the VA so it can provide the service that the government promised we should just limit it to people who have had their legs blown off?

Shack brother.
Unscorable at 6.
It's earned compensation, not an entitlement. If my back and neck are going to hurt for the rest of my life then I expect to be compensated by my employer whether I'm able to hold a different job or not. Just like the GI Bill and the retirement pension, it was part of the deal when I signed up.

Do they still require cock pushups? That's the only gender-specific exercise I can think of.

From page 1 this very thread, circa 2005.I'm thinking it was around summer 04 - When the deed went to a strict apparel policy. Our crew left the states on our two week trip right before the word got out that PT gear or uniforms would be required there. So we show up on a Friday night and the stage tells us that starting Sunday the deed would have this new policy. We don't really think anything of it...Saturday afternoon we launch on a 24 hour mission. We get back Sunday afternoon and decide to go grab something to eat. Well now the PT Gear policy is in full force. No shit, the Loadmaster (MSgt with 18 years in) and I get stopped three times on the way to the chow (which is just across the street) because we had pockets on our shorts and PT gear doesn't have pockets, or so we were told.
We get up to the door, the door checker wouldn't let us in; not because of the pockets, but because the Load had belt loops on his khaki shorts!

+1 for Cobra Kai. Got the job done, the price was right, and the location worked for me.Just finished up at Cobra Kai Friday. The program was really good and they are very military friendly. The two flights was a bonus. would definitely recommend.
Cost was $2850, eval fee 500
A word of warning, though..they will charge you for going over the alloted time even though their instructor is the one driving the profile on the practice flights. A 30 knot headwind at 3,000' makes for a long sortie.

I wouldn't tie myself to anything in Del Rio.

The person operating the manned aircraft is trained, licensed and has the amazing ability to look out the fucking window thus enabling him to not collide with other aircraft.
So what? I'm talking about liberty, not safety.

So what gives manned aircraft the liberty to freely use the airspace but denies the drone operator the ability to also use the airspace as they would like?

2,300' AGL, 300 KIAS, 15nm radar downwind is an every day occurance where I'm at. Mix fast and slower jets in the pattern and that's what you get.

I'm a Reserve AGR (full timer) and own a small business. It's not the most time consuming thing in the world but it occupies a lot of brain bytes. I couldn't imagine doing it while I was in UPT.

Looks like he was on a low level commonly known as "radar downwind."

I read the article too. Is this REALLY all there is to his firing? One part of me says "There has to be more to this" but the other part me CAN believe it as thin skinned and pussified as we have gotten as a military and as a society. If this is really the only reason we fired an otherwise exemplary general (and I don't know him other than having been at Salem when he was the boss) then dear God, we are truly screwed.
Well, if you're handing out Art 15s for naughty text messages between consenting adults then maybe you shouldn't use racial stereotypes in a public forum.

I feel like I don't even know you anymore.Started flying with the Dave Clark Pro X last month in the 737. Same front end as the 727 so lots of air rush noise over jet at speeds above 290-ish or .78-ish. Very lightweight, excellent noise reduction. Just replaced my first set of batteries after 50 or so hours of flying. Switches in the battery pack for Stereo/Mono and Auto Off (turns headset off after 5 minutes of no use and unplugged. Headset also has Bluetooth so great for pairing to phone or iPad for books/music/calls.

Is this true for the military with our pension system? In the outside world, its far cheaper to keep your current employees/customers than it is to get new ones. The same is true for all of you.

One time we had to stop launch for a few minutes when a flock of birds landed on the runway. We're sitting there in EOR and here comes Post hauling ass down the runway in the white top trying to chase the birds away. It was pretty funny to see them take off about 5' up in the air then land after he passed by. I could just picture how angry he was that they weren't respecting his authoritah.

And it looks like Tony Carr's recently coined "Welsh Doctrine," which maintains that military members have almost no right to freedom of speech on or off duty can trace it's origin to this issue.
