Its not about persoanlty its about looks of course she is hot

You cannot expect us to take your word for it - we are far too cynical. No, a photograph is required.

Gonna start this thread from the other perspective should be getting dates for AMS/UPT pretty soon and my girlfriend of a year wants to come to UPT with me... long story short im on the fritz if i want her to or not, I realize the AF doesnt recognize any relationship besides marriages. So would you bring your girlfriend?

Well, that depends: If you HAVE to live in the dorms (it's mandatory unless the dorms are like 90% filled), then she can get an apartment off base. If you can live off base, get an apartment/house together. At Vance, there is a Student Officer Spouse's Club (SOSC), and GF's are welcome. I don't know about the OCS though. I can ask, I'm really good friends with the current President and VP's.

There is a standard Baseops rule- If you claim hotness, you must prove hotness. Post a pic.

I just got assigned to Vance and will be reporting for UPT sometime next year. My girlfriend is planning on coming with me to Enid but we will not be married yet. Does anybody know if it would be possible for me to live off base with her or will I be required to live in a dorm during UPT? I know most UPT bases require unmarried students to live in dorms but I am wondering if they ever make any exceptions.

Thanks

Standard answer, it depends. If the dorms are above a certain percent full they allow people to live off base and even allow people in the dorms to move off if they wish.

All you can do is call the lodging office and see what they say. I will say that most guys I knew during pilot training that wanted to live off base were able to do so. Finding a decent apartment or rental home in Enid on the other hand...

Do you have a lot of household goods? I had enough stuff to fill a 2 bedroom apt and they forced me to stay on Vance, without my stuff for six months. The kicker was that I had to pay out of my own pocket to store my HHG until the occupancy level got high enough for me to move. Apparently that was all a bunch of BS and I shouldn't have been force to stay in the dorms. That was back in 07/08, but it seemed like things had changed significantly when I left in 09. But with new wing leadership, who knows.

Like osulax said, just give them a call and get a feeling for what the current situation there is like. There's actually a lot of places (apts/conodos/houses) around Enid. Other than people trying to actually buy houses, I didn't know anyone that had a hard time finding a place to live off base.

Keep in mind that she will have no access to the base unless you are with her. She's just another civilian to them.

You're correct that there is no shortage of cheap apts, and houses. I think our definition of decent is different though.

To the OP: Don't let anybody trash talking Enid influence your opinion before you get there. Odds are you won't really like the town. But, if you can suppress those feelings as long as possible, I guarantee you'll have a better year+ in Enid, America.

No I agree, decent is the operative word.

This is true. I had a great time. Flew airplanes, drank with my classmates, partied in Wichita/OKC/Stillwater. Had a great class sponsor that let us drink beer and build ridiculously huge bonfires on his property.

Then there were guys who acted as if Enid was the total ruination of their life.

Pictures of said girlfriend would help everyone give you the right advice.

will I be required to live in a dorm during UPT?

Most likely. Unless dorms are full as previously mentioned. Word of advice though, don't sign a lease until you're absolutely sure you have permission to live off base. The way I see it you have two options.

1. Get Married

2. Have her sign a lease and you just "crash" there...use you dorm on base as a study (err porn) sanctuary.
