April 18Apr 18 First time here! Looking to retake the AFOQT here in a month or so, and then fingers crossed 🤞
April 19Apr 19 Anyone know how many got picked up for UPT last year? I know the statistic they published probably didn't include the late add-ons. Top of my nugget I know 4 people who weren't even alternates, but got picked up a month or so later. I'm assuming number has to be at least above 100. Just curious.
April 21Apr 21 FY26 Pilot select here.Good luck yall. Sharing my stats for yalls reference.PCSM: 96Pilot Score: 97PPL: NoFlt hrs: 11 hoursSq Ranking: 1 of 1Wing Ranking: 6 of 7LOR: From my sq ccI have attend the Rated Prep Program (RPP). Strongly recommend attending if possible. Applied as a 2nd Lt with zero deployments or special duties. Awards: 1x Sq quarterly award.Keep in mind that while high stats are great, the content of your LOR and personal letter weigh just as heavy. Several people have had 100 PCSMs and 100 Pilot scores with 100+ flight hours, but still do not get selected.

Would you mind sharing the themes of your LOR and personnal letter? What did you choose to focus on for the board to see?

What did you choose to focus on for the board to see?Focused on 3 things for the letters: Leadership, adaptability, and potential. In your personal letter, I’d recommend trying to write about a time you overcame a hardship (against all odds, how did you overcome your challenge?)In the LOR, ENSURE SOMEONE WHO KNOWS YOU WELL writes it (or signs off on it). This will typically be your sq cc. Several people have had people with stars give them an LOR, but its clear that it is a very generic LOR and they still dont get selected. Your recommender should be able to speak to your abilities and what youve accomplished. The board (for all prev boards) has used this grading scale:Leadership 40% (your ROP and letters)Adaptability/potential 30% (LOR and personal)Aptitute/education 30% (all your scores)

Thank you! I have been contemplating who/where my LOR should come from and have chatted w/ my Sq/CC about it, but I agree, don't want it to feel generic!

Would you mind sharing the themes of your LOR and personnal letter? What did you choose to focus on for the board to see?Just chiming in as another FY26 select in case it helps anyone out. Here’s my stats.First time applying.AFOQT Pilot: 99PCSM: 68PPL: NoFlight Hours (at the time of applying I was deployed and couldn’t fly, but have since gotten a few more): 1.2 hours Sqd Ranking: 1 of 1Wg Ranking: 2 of 22x Flt Commander; 1x deployment; worked at the Sqd, Gp, and Wg levels. Always had at least one Sqd quarterly award on each OPR/OPB, and usually tried to have an annual Sqd or quarterly Gp award. My personal statement focused on leadership, adaptability, and experience in the Ops realm even though I was a norated officer at the time. LOR was from my deployed Wing Deputy CC. We worked closely together during the 12 Day War last year in CENTCOM, so he was able to see how I work under extreme stress, ability to learn quickly and adapt (I was filling a Wing level rated position as a healthcare admin officer), and my leadership ability. Ultimately, I think it was my leadership experience that propped up my lower PCSM and lack of flight hours. I’m in the middle of PCSing to Vance now. If you have questions about the application process or IPT, I’m happy to help. Best of luck to everyone applying this year!

Has your wing/group put out any suspenses yet? Haven't heard anything yet here so I am wondering what to expect given the board suspense is pushed back to October.
43 minutes ago43 min My first time applying, a 1st Lt and put on Captain in the fall. I am an MQ-9 Evaluator pilot. I got all my quals quickly and have amassed close to 1700 hours in the plane between my enlisted time as a sensor operator and as a pilot. I become a Ops Sup/MCC as a 2d Lt, then became an IP a couple months after I put on 1st Lt. Now as an FE and putting on Capt in fall, I am beyond grateful to have my wife’s support with this. See below my information.PCSM: 96AFOQT Pilot: 86PPL and flying on a monthly basisLOR is my from my previous OG/CC who just retired and knew me well and still mentors me to this day.Personal letter is oriented around proven, trusted leadership track record, consistent high performance, leading and serving others and leveraging my unmanned experience to better manned. Highly strated IP in squadron1/21 LtsDG OTS/IQT2024 JrCGO OTY and 2025 IP OTYI serve as my squadrons Chief of safety and a graduated flight safety officer “S” coded. I have been fortunate to have been an IO on a class B too. Also a joint LNO aboard the Roosevelt for a major AF/Navy Exercise.I am hopeful for this year, this is my first time applying and do not need any waivers for medical or age. Happy to connect with anyone on here to share more specifics about my app. I have got a lot of mentorship on this process, make sure leadership is captured. Good luck to everyone! At least to my knowledge. I did talk to the execs and they said they'd let me know when they want deliverables. I'm expecting sometime soon as the stuff for the application was due around June last year. I'm currently on a TDY so it's been hard to get face to face time with anyone at the squadron. From what I know, (last year) the execs wanted people to write their personal statements and have medical, PCSM, etc squared away so the CC could start working on their LOR and push that towards the group level for the Group CC LOR. From there I think your package goes to the wing and onward, but I'm not sure either!

Have some people you really trust look over your paperwork.
