however a buddy was selected. 
 

57 PCSM 69 Pilot 40hrs No PPL 4/7 at the WG. Dude was a stellar leader with below average scores. It worked out in his favor

@bpep887 Base FSS sent out an email to my Wing leadership and it went down the chain to my Sq Cc and he gave me the call. Today he forwarded the email to me.

UPT select! 99 Pilot, 94 PCSM, #1 at the wing. No PPL

 

This was my third time trying. First year was shot down at the GP. Non select last year and picked up this year. 
 

if you were an alternate or non select, don’t give up! Focus on leadership opportunities and awards. They help make the package very competitive. 

Got selected for UPT! First time applying. 95 PCSM, 99 Pilot, no PPL, ranked 2/15 for the wg. 

UPT select! 96 Pilot, 86 PCSM, PPL, #1 at the wing.

Thank you to everyone who has been a part of this forum, provided insights, and all sorts of helpful info. Didn’t get picked up out of ROTC or supplemental boards, but God did it!

Does anyone have the full list of all the selects?

Anyone have any SA on when we will get a training RIP? I know we can start as early as March.

no T-1s, so how does one track Heavies/tanker?

I'm at Vance right now. They have what's called "T-6 direct" meaning once you finish the T-6 you go straight to your heavy FTU course. No T-1 sims anymore. Whether or not that's a good thing is left to be seen. They have a program called XPW (expedited path to wings) which skips T-6 and is a T-1 only track straight to heavies but the classes are small and rare, and it's gonna be phased out once the last of the T-1s are sent to the bone yard.

All B1/2/52  slots are through T-38’s. 

T-1s and sims are phased out already at Vance. Same with Columbus I'm pretty sure. Columbus has what's called IPT (initial pilot training). It's it's own beast. I can answer questions about it if anybody wants to know more.

I was an alternate the first time I applied. They told me they only use alternates if someone initially declines their pilot offer. So you should know in the next couple weeks if anyone declines because they'll offer it to you. Bad news is, if you don't hear anything in the next couple weeks you aren't getting a slot I think. I had heard a rumor they might use alternates if someone fails the medical testing at wright Patt but I think that's just a rumor. Don't be discouraged though. You were really close to getting selected. Apply again next year. I got picked up on my second try.

That last part is 100% true. That is what worked for me. Talk to you commander about how you can make your package next year more competitive. Ask for those opportunities.

I received a training rip for med testing at wright Patt pretty quickly last year. Think I got it in early February. My rip for IFT closely followed. Went to IFT in April

You'll get your assignment before your training RIP. Since we already did MFS and the RPA syllabus at Doss, you'll go straight to your UPT base. From there I actually remember finding out my class start date on vMPF before actually getting the RIP.

Of course the selection results come out right as I'm going out of the country on leave 😂 I haven't heard anything from my leadership yet but still holding out hope 🤞

Again, dont give up! I know how much it sucks. I was told no twice prior to getting a yes.

Last year select* - I had a training projection that wouldn't go away on my CDB, but I just asked my CSS to pull my record and they were able to see the training dates that were hidden.

I am currently in IPT and would be willing to answer questions about it as well if anyone hopes on going to Columbus.  Just shoot me a DM. As of right now CAFB cut the XPW program to focus fully on IPT.

I was hoping the same, but they updated the dates online for official release being 28 Jan:

Just to keep the info going:

RPA Select (only applied for RPA). 

1st time applying,current rated aviator. 

Wg #1/1. 99 Pilot score. 93 PCSM. 21 hours.

 

Hopeful for the alternates. If you weren't selected,don't give up! I know a lot of guys who took 2-3 tries, but keep working at it and you'll eventually get there! Now to round 2 at DOSScwhitz!

@simsans how does IPT work after you get back from your flight school. By that I mean do you do trans and then form in the T-6 or what? My first time hearing about IPT was when I got back from Altus last year and my neighbors were going through it.

I got no idea how it will work. I know it's shortened, but I don't know what all is cut out.  I'll let someone with more knowledge lurking these pages to chime in on that.

Got notified from my CC today, UPT select!

99 Pilot, 98 PCSM, 44 hrs, PPL, #1 or #2 at Wing (had a late submission from someone else in the Wing on the last day lol)

Very excited but still can't believe it!

UCT select: 98 PCSM, 89 Pilot, 60 hrs., no PPL. 1/1 at the Wing, 1st time applicant. 

Not the results I was hoping for, but glad I have the opportunity to go to UCT. Currently on the fence about what I am going to do.

Any insight on how long it takes until UCT begins once selected?

If you haven't done the full flight physical, you will have to go and do that. Otherwise, it just depends on how backed up the pipeline is. It could be super quick to class up, or you could be on casual for a little bit. Either way congratulations! UCT is an awesome experience.
