First time posting here and happy for this resource being available. I wanted to ask if anyone has seen or heard of this happening. I am currently on the VML for this upcoming cycle and received an assignment. My PDD date was already moved to accommodate the release of the rated boards results. My assignment team called me last week to tell me not to schedule my HHG movements and that they were cancelling my assignment until after the board results are released because they heard I was being "considered". Is this normal?

Not exactly the same situation for me, but I think that's normal. I got taken off of a deployment for the same reason, being "considered".

Don’t know if this is normal. In a similar situation, on this upcoming VML & waiting for the UFT board results.

I was supposed to move this month. I contacted AFPC to get my move changed to end of Feb (to allow time for the results to come out). If the time lines are super close I would call to have your PDD moved!

Sorry that happened and as long as it is normal! I just figured they would let me keep my assignment since I already coordinated with AFPC to have my PDD be after almost a month after the results come out.

My uneducated hopeful guess is 24 Jan!

Monday is a federal holiday

The 24th would be on timeline for when they released last year.

waiting until the 31st would be just plain cruel.

Don't discount a random day of the week like Tuesday! Our results in 2022 were released on a Tuesday to CCs.

Don't give me that false hope, lol

This wait is killing me

I'm checking AF portal, milSuite, and myFSS 5 times a day lol

Clinging to false hope that today will be the day. 🙌🏼

I had a literal dream about this dang board last night. I don’t know how many more days my brain can tolerate 😂😂

If it doesn’t drop today, then at least I can find solace in the long weekend knowing our next chance is Tuesday after the holiday Monday.

I did the math and based on how many duty days it took for them to start coordinating the release last year, that should have started today. The amount of duty days between coordination and CC notification would put this year at Monday, January 27. Public release 30 Jan.

Granted, this is assuming it is exactly the same as last year.

I'm not going to start holding my breath until Thursday of next week.

Valid math! That could be a spot on guess.

Where did you find the coordination date for last year?

In the Air Force portal comments. It was posted like January 19 of last year in response to someone asking about the release date.

I just saw that. Good eyes!

Looking further down i saw that during coordination they brief and vett through AFPC leadership. Anyone have any insight on the vetting process? What would disqualify someone vs validate their selection?

Answered my own question. A mentor on the board last year messaged me back.

“Honestly much doesn’t change. The double check everything, allocate the seats, and then make sure to highlight any individuals who had a GO push and weren’t selected. Just to give the AFPC/cc a heads up that he might get a phone call haha”

GO push as in the Senior Rater on the application? Or LOR signature? Maybe either?

I am assuming letter of recommendation. I was able to do the RPP program and met with the gentlemen the organizes the board. He said in some instances there will be candidates with LORs from GO's and they often call the board to see why they were not selected lol

Gotta love Air Force politics… I bet that’s how these dudes with 30 pcsms get selected. Yes I’m salty lol

It's definitely frustrating seeing how low some of the PCSM score are. Hell, when I was at Doss (RPA) there were manned pilot selects there with low 20s - stung a little bit at first. End of the day its entirely out of our control and not worth the effort to worry about - the Air Force is gonna do what they want either way.

Saw something about someone being on the VML in here while also awaiting for UPT results. I’m in a similar boat - on the VML with three bids and a deployment coming up in April taking a lead LNO position. Leadership at my squadron isn’t too worried about all of it.

Essentially told me that they’ll work with AFPC to make everything make sense. I’d really like to go on my deployment so I’m the off chance I get picked up I’m semi-worried that it’ll get pulled and I won’t be able to work something out.

I’m not on the VML however I’m in another unique situation.

I took the AVB RPA bonus last year right as the board met. AFPC AVB dept said for bonus to stay active all I need to do is to stay on FLT orders. Meaning cross training is possible so long as it’s another Rated job. My CC and I discussed it last fall and he said it would be smart to take it. Thus, I extended 12 years with the hope I’d get picked up for UPT and my 10 year ADSC would run concurrent with my bonus extension.  So I could at least get paid extra while staying in anyhow.

Fast forward to this month, my boss and I had second thoughts if AFPC saw my signing the same way we did. We emailed our assignment POC’s and have heard nothing back. My biggest fear is they won’t release me from the career field because of this.

Maybe no news is good news. However I am now having significant fears I shot myself in the foot.

That was me. Recently deployed and was on the most recent winter VML. I got orders for my assignment once I got back around OCT. My orders were for Jan 31 (right around when the results were scheduled to drop). I then had my PDD date changed to Feb to accommodate the results release. I am doing a dity so with the new FEB PDD it would allow me time to pack everything after the dust settled.

Idk about your situation but about a week ago my assignment reached out to me  to tell me not to send anything or schedule the move. I was told my assignment was being turned off until the results were out. I mentioned that my PDD was way after the results dropped and then I got radio silence besides being told good luck lol.

From what I saw from the PDSM the board made its selections in NOV. After that everything was logistics planning. I would expect your assignment team to reach out to you to cancel it since you are being considered? It really depends on how proactive your assignment team is, but rated orders should trump anything else.

I knew a few guys from previous YGs who took the bonus then went to UPT with me. Obviously this was a few years ago and things have changed but it might not be something that would stop you from getting released.

Anyone has any insight on the New UPT?

no T-1s, so how does one track Heavies/tanker?

also, are B52s under the T-38-fighter/Bomber or Heavies/tanker track?

Thanks

I actually just got back from Laughlin.

After T-6 you will do a T-1 sim syllabus and then go to your MWS. Later on down the road they are looking to just send pilots to their heavy FTU immediately after T-6.

All B1/2/52  slots are through T-38’s.
