Currently an active duty AH-64E Pilot for the army as a commissioned officer.  Looking at opportunities for IST to the Air Force to continue my aviation career.  Looking for thoughts and anyone with past experience with this and could lend a hand. Thanks!

Looking at AD and a FW transition. I've heard that they make it even harder for the RW to FW transition though. I found one mention in an AFI stating the maximum allowed time for previous active duty commissioned service is 5 years. Is this true/waivable?

If you want fix wing you’ll have to attend the full UPT. Age limit is 33. Have never heard AD approving a federal commission time waiver for bros wanting to go AD. Guard / reserves once hired the unit will back you on getting the above waived. If you want AF helos I don’t think age and federal commission times will trigger having to get a waiver. I Would recommend chasing after a guard reserves fix wing slot... if you really want AD, go fly rotos with the Pedro bros.
