Guard units loose their aircraft and mission on occasions. Even transfer to the Pred mission.  No guarantees, sorry.

Very true. I've seen the Niagara Falls and Meridian (MS) ANG go from the KC-135s to another MDS back to KC-135s again. I was at Robins in 2001 when the Georgia ANG lost their B-1s. Nothing is guaranteed.
